Progress Report on the Feeding Program

for Day Care Learners

Feeding Program in the barangay is probably one of the most significant way of
helping the children in the community. We know that the most common problem of learners
today are malnutrition and poverty. Aside from this fact, the ages of children from 3 to 5
years are considered growing years and significantly the child at this stage must be given
proper nutrition.

Likewise, the utmost concern of the proponent of this feeding program is to help the
family in the community to give the proper nutrition to the young learners who came to the
Day Care Center eager to learn how to read, write and mingle with others. These children will
be the hope of their families in the future when they graduate and able to find job to support
their loved ones.

Moreover, the Feeding Program conducted in the barangay is expected not just to
effect change in the health of the young learners but to support the community through the
families to realize that proper nutrition and guidance must be accorded to their children at
their growing years. Hence, the fact that while the feeding program was going on the
proponent tried to inculcate to parents or families of the children the importance of proper
nutrition and maintaining good health to the well- being of each member of the family.

The following data will show the thirteen beneficiaries of the Feeding Program.

There was a noticeable development in the nutritional status of the children as shown
in the table. The graph further shows the increase of the children’s height and weight before
and after the feeding program was conducted.

The feeding of young learners in the Day Care Center during and after the course of
the program was a tremendous realization. The program prompted change to young learners
because they stopped from being absent, tardy and timid. Each feeding session gave joy and
excitement to the kids aside from causing change to their health and well-being.
