Course 2 Lesson 23 “I like watching TV in my free time.

Opening: Greeting & Self-introduction: Ask student's their first name here. (1-2 min.)

--Today’s Scene(Skit) : “Jenny and Daiki’s brother like making videos.” (6 min.)

T: Let's read Today’s Skit. First, I will read it alone. Please listen carefully.
(Read the skit aloud in a lively, animated way.)
T: Next, please repeat after me. “My brother likes making videos.” S: ”My brother likes making videos.”
(T: Good!) (Correct pronunciation if necessary.)
*Note: If the student's pronunciation sounds Japanese-like, please correct them.
They tend to read English flat, especially with longer sentences. Please have them read in chunks, emphasizing stress
and intonation.
(Offer praise when you see improvement.)

(Practice all sentences once.)

T: Next, let’s do role play. First, can you read Daiki’s part? (Read the skit with student.)

T: OK. Then, let’s try No. 1! Can you read 2 sentences, use “like to” and “like -ing.”

T: Good! Now, No. 1. Replace the words with the words in the box. And make 2 sentences, use phrases “want to” and “enjoy
-ing.” Let’s try.

a good model for them.)

T: I see. (You may keep the conversation going after finishing the activity. Students enjoy talking with teachers about various
things. Please engage them in a friendly atmosphere. However, please remember to use easy words.)
