Lux Level Calculation

The document provides a lux level calculation for an outdoor area. The area is 80x10 meters and requires an illuminance of 200 lux. Six 48W LED lamps, each producing 4500 lumens, are used. The calculation multiplies the number of lamps, lumen output per lamp, and maintenance and utilization factors, then divides by the area to determine the lux level is 200.81, meeting the required 200 lux.

Lux Level Calculation

Area Dimension: 80 x 10m

Required illuminance level: 200 lux
Location installation: Substation Switchyard

DATA ENTRY LIGHT FIXTURE SPECFIFICATION

Type of outdoor lamp fixture: 48W LED Lamp

Luminous Flux per lamp (S): 4500lm
No of lamps (N): 6

E= N x S x uf x mf
A

E= Lux A= (m2) Area of room (LXW)

N= No. of lights uf = Utilization Factor
S= Lumen mf = Maintenance factor

Result

E= 6 x 4500 x 0.7 x 0.85

80

E= 200.81 lx

Notes:
uf: Is the proportion of the luminous flux emitted by the lamps which
reaches the working plane.

mf: The ratio of illumination on a given area after a period of time to the
initial illumination on the same area use in lighting calculation to account
for the depreciation of lamps or relective surface (or the like). Also see
light factor.

Lux: Symbol (lx) is the SI derived unit of illuminance and luminous emittance
measuring luminous flux per unit area.

Lumen: Symbol (lm) a measure of the total quantity of visible light emitted by a
source (luminous flux, luminous power)
