MY SPEC SCRIPT

Scene description (location, time of day, physical setting);

Maxwell International School, 10:00 A.M. - Day

Scene narration:

Cassandra Mondragon standing near the stairs of the hallway. She is visibly sad hearing the news.
She turned around at the sounds of heavy footsteps ; someone was entering the floor. Then someone
appeared at the stairs.

In front of her a girl in a white dress, Margaret Bartolome, her rival enters the floor. She walks
directly to Cassandra. Her face is filled with jealousy as she looks directly into Cassandra’s eyes.
They get into a heated argument.

Dialogue block:

Margaret Bartolome
You cheater! Tell me? Paano nanalo ng
prestigious award ang anak ng isang rapist
murderer?!

Cassandra Mondragon steps closer, and slaps her for the offensive statement.

Margaret Bartolome
Lumalabas na ang totoong ugali mo, Cassie.

Cassandra Mondragon
Pinaghirapan ko lahat ng ito, Marga!
And diba pinagsabihan na kita? Huwag
mong bastusin ang aking ina! Ganun ba
kahirap sa iyo tanggapin na natalo kita?
Kaya kung ano-ano na lang ang sinasabi mo
tungkol sa akin?

Margaret Bartolome
(loudly)
Wala kang pinaghirapan! Nakuha mo lahat ng
ito dahil sa aking pamilya, Mondragon ka!
 Cassandra Mondragon
Yung pagpunta ko sa London ang kailangan
mo para manahimik ka?! Then go ahead!
Sayong sayo na Marga, kasi gusto ko lang
makapagtapos ako. Ang kailangan ko lang
ngayon scholarship mula sa Maxwell!
Hindi ang pagpunta sa London.

Margaret Bartolome, in disbelief attempts to talk back at her reason.

Margaret Bartolome
So sinasabi mo ba sa akin na pinaglaban mo
ang Maxwell pero hindi mo kukunin?
Ano joke lang ba to para sa iyo?

Cassandra Mondragon
Hindi! Dahil alam ko kung ano mas kailangan
ko, Marga! At iyon ang makapag-aral kahit
hindi sa London dahil iniisip ko yung future
namin ni mama na ipinagkakait ninyo dahil
kinukuha kayo lahat ng iniiwan sa amin ni Daddy!

Subtext from the scene:

The emotion being conveyed in the scene is the hate against the jealousy of the rival against
Cassie. You are to sympathize and join the side of Cassandra seen as the one in the right
while against Margaret as the wrong one in the argument.
Being jealous and entitled can result in anger and hatred towards a person who worked
hard to achieve their dreams resulting in delusion which fires back as karma gets the hold,
punishing those who don’t follow it.
