Kalpana Chawla

A star, born in Karnal, reached the epic heights of respect and achievement and still inspires millions
of us through a billion ways became the first woman to go to space in 1997. She died on February 1,
2003, when her space shuttle named, Colombia went through some serious issues and broke up
while re-entering into the earth’s atmosphere. She portrayed immense courage and bravery who
achieved her dreams fighting all the odds.
