The Power of Patience: Paving the Path to Hope and Achievement

Success requires persistence and patience. According to the proverb, "all good things
come to those who wait." If we want to do something significant, we cannot expect to do so
quickly. The virtue of patience teaches us to cherish the work as well as the results. It is
erroneous to believe that achieving particular goals is the sole way to happiness.

If you weren't born with patience, it takes practice to develop it. You must be able to wait
and have faith. Peace of mind comes from being patient. We cannot be at ease when we
anticipate certain results because our expectations are so high and if we rely on instant
gratification then we are setting ourselves up for the bare minimum. If we don’t immediately get
the result we want then nothing gets done except for our temper escalating if we become
frustrated as well. Additionally, we must exercise patience when trying to learn something new
because we will experience the same setbacks and fail to advance. Impatience is a parasite that
slowly leads to anger and outbursts. Learning how to cultivate the crops you plant and how to
propagate them leads to more plants and more harvest whereas impatiently reaping what you sow
leads to only what you expected instead of what it could have been had you exercised patience.

Patience is free while regret is expensive. Never let your emotions get the best of your
judgement as it could lead to something that you can never reverse. Don’t make promises when
you are happy and don’t lash out when you are angry. Patience is a virtue that only those with
persistence and hope hold and value. Time goes by quickly so do something productive as you
wait for your plants to bloom and bear fruit and invest the seeds for another time to wait as you
repeat the cycle of harvest and replanting to maximize the returns of your investment whether on
yourself, a business, education or family.
