1.What is a community? Give an example.

A group of people that have things in common (living, working, playing together).

Example of a big community is UAE community

Example of a small community is ELPS community.

2.What is the difference between a need and a want?

Things people must have to survive are called needs .e.g. food, clothing, shelter, safety, health care,
transportation, education.

Things people enjoy having in life but do not need to survive are called wants. e.g. fun, entertainment,
luxuries.

3.What is an institution? Which institutions help keep people safe?

Institutions are organizations that serve people. (provide goods and services)

Police and firefighters help keep people safe.

4.Where can people pick up letters or send packages?

Post offices
