“Papa’s Oven Baked BarBQ Ribs” (via AJC)

12 country-style pork ribs (about 4 lbs for ribs with bones) or BEEF : )

Magic Dust Rub:

2 ½ Tbsp coarsely ground black pepper

2 ½ Tbsp paprika
1 ½ tsp celery salt
1 ½ Tbsp chili powder
1 ¼ tsp powdered garlic
¾ tsp dried mustard
1/8 tsp ground cinnamon

Georgia BBQ Sauce:

1 ½ cups ketchup
1 cup cider vinegar
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
3 Tbsp prepared yellow mustard
2 to 3 cloves garlic, mashed
1 lemon, cut in half

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line one or two roasting pans with aluminum foil
and place ribs bone side down in pan.

Make the rub: In a small bowl, mix together the black pepper, paprika, celery
salt, chili powder, ground red pepper, powdered garlic, dried mustard and ground
cinnamon. Rub onto the ribs.

Bake ribs for 1 hour. While they are baking, make the sauce: In a medium
saucepan, combine the ketchup, vinegar, oil, Worcestershire sauce, brown
sugar, mustard and garlic. Squeeze juice from one lemon half into the sauce,
and then toss in one half lemon. Heat slowly, about 10 minutes; it doesn’t have
to boil.

After the first hour, remove ribs and pour off any fat. Cover the ribs with sauce
(save some for dipping once done) and bake for 30-45 minutes more, until done.
