Good day!

Praised be Jesus and Mary.

In light of the foregoing course requirement in our PHILO 88 – Environmental Justice class, which is a
podcast tackling about the marine issues that our environment is currently faced with, the ways in which
people can contribute to the sustainable development, and promotion of justice, we, students from the
College of Arts and Sciences, third year undergraduates of AB Philosophy course, would like to conduct
an interview with you wherein we will record and publish your answers in our podcast.

Our interview shall be geared towards the topic which you are most familiar with, the Ridge-River Reef
Program spearheaded by the Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan. As the President of the University,
we would like to hear particularly your inputs and plans upon the project. We hope to impart knowledge
to the whole student body and perhaps to our localities about the Program and we wish to amplify our
voices through this interview, and you.

We hope to interview you on Monday, April 24, 2023, in your free time.

If you can accept and squeeze this invitation despite your busy schedule, below are the questions which
will be asked during the interview:

1. Can you give us a brief overview of XU’s project on the Ride, River, and Reef Program?
2. The R3 Project addresses marine ecosystems, why do you think it is more important to focus on
protecting, and rehabilitating water bodies? There is a plethora of environmental issues to
tackle, why this?
3. With regards to human agency, do you think we are doing the best we can to protect and
preserve the planet? Are we doing enough for our common home?
4. What do you think the future of our planet will be? Should we care about the environmental
interests of future generations?
5. Given that we already know the Whats and Whys of the cause, what about the Hows? Aside
from the R3 Program, what actions can everyone do to help the cause? We currently have a
myriad of environmental issues. How can regular people contribute to the planet’s healing and
protection?
6. Is there anything you wish to say to our listeners, perhaps a grain of wisdom for us to carry and
reflect on?

Sincerely yours,

Darwin Bryan B. Abejaron
