Dear Parents and Guardians:

In an effort to maintain an optimal learning environment for all of our students and to ensure
safety and limit distractions, I request your support as I seek to discourage the student use of
cell phones during class time. Cell phones will remain in a locked cabinet during lesson and
learning times. Each student has an assigned spot in the cabinet. The cabinet will be locked at
all times so you can be assured your child’s phone will be kept safe. Students will have free
access to their cell phones during snack and lunch times (10:15am, 11:55am, and 2:10pm). As
well as those times during the day when we complete our learning goals and have a bit of extra
time in our day.

In the event that your child must call home your child can make use of the telephone in the main
office. In the case of a family emergency or if you need to contact your child during the school
day the office staff will certainly give your child a message or have him/her return your call.
Students will be expected to comply with these expectations and any student who violates these
expectations will be held accountable to the District’s Code of Conduct. Thank you in advance
for your partnership with our school and your continued support in order to provide a safe and
productive learning environment that limits distractions for all of our students. Sincerely, Joseph
