PREVIOUS STUDIES
1. How do your previous studies qualify you for this programme? In particular, what expertise do you
have on the following subjects: programming, data analytics, health technology?
2. Briefly summarize your BSc/MSc thesis and its relevance for this programme.
3. What kind of a practical work or project did your BSc/MSc thesis include? In particular, did it include
programming or data analytics?
4. Are you familiar with scientific writing (for example articles, scientific essays, reports or thesis)? If yes,
please describe.
(Max. 3000 characters including spaces.)
My computer science and engineering experience gives me a solid basis for the University of
Turku's Master of Health Technology program. I've developed programming skills in Python, Java,
and C++, with an emphasis on designing and implementing algorithms. My studies involved a lot
of programming projects and assignments, which helped me to get useful abilities for health
technology.
In terms of data analytics, over my academic career I have become proficient in a variety of data
analysis tools and approaches. This covers data visualization, machine learning methods, and
statistical analysis. My ability to use these abilities in classroom and real-world projects has
shown that I have a firm grasp of the fundamentals of data analytics.

My coursework has focused on the interface of computer science and healthcare in the setting of
health technology. I have researched healthcare data management, health information system
design and implementation, and the use of technology to enhance healthcare outcomes. My
educational experience puts me in a good position to interact with the Master's Program's diverse
components.

The goal of my B.Sc. thesis, "Crop Yield Prediction using Machine Learning," was to forecast crop
yields by utilizing sophisticated machine learning algorithms in conjunction with environmental
parameters and historical data. The thesis has significance for the Master's Program in Health
Technology since both programs employ data-driven methodologies. Health-related data analysis
can benefit from the approach and skills acquired in agricultural outcome prediction, despite the
different topic matter.

My B.Sc. thesis's practical work included gathering and preparing agricultural data, putting
machine learning models into practice, and assessing how well they predicted the future. I did a
lot of programming, using Python for feature engineering, data manipulation, and model
execution. To make sure the prediction models were accurate and reliable, the project also
included data analytics methods including statistical validation and exploratory data analysis.

Yes, I have experience writing scientifically. Throughout my education, I wrote several academic
papers and my B.Sc. thesis. Writing experiences I have involve stating study goals, describing
procedures, showcasing findings, and formulating conclusions supported by actual data. I am
used to following the rules of academic writing, which include accurate citation guidelines and
concise explanations of difficult technical subjects.

In conclusion, my educational background, proficiency with programming, familiarity with data

analytics, and the significance of my thesis research make me a special candidate for the
University of Turku's Master of Health Technology program. I have no doubt that my
interdisciplinary experience will enhance the program's goals and cooperative learning
atmosphere.
