TYPES OF HOOK: _____________________________

 Imagine going to a sushi restaurant that could no longer serve

fish. Such a scenario may seem very difficult to believe, but the fish

populations of the earth’s oceans face severe threats. Like land animals that

have been hunted to near extinction , such as buffalo, elephants, and tigers.

Marine animals also need to be protected if they need to survive into future

generations. Governments must encourage sustainable fishing practices

and other regulatory guidelines to ensure that the oceans preserve their

variety of animal and plant life as well as sufficient fish populations.

TYPES OF HOOK: _____________________________

 Spam, which Flynn and Kahn (2003) define as “ unsolicited e-mail

that is neither wanted nor needed” (p. 179) by anyone, threatens the entire

e-mail system. E-mail is a vital method of communication today, but the

annoying mountain of spam threatens to destroy this important means of

modern communication. If e-mail is to continue to be useful, law against

spam must be strengthened and strictly enforced to avoid the exploitation

of e-mail.
