sentences together.

Coordinating Conjunctions
• If a conjunction, joins together clauses of equal ranks or grammatical
units of the same kind, then it is a coordinating conjunction.
• For example, do you want a chocolate pastry or a blueberry muffin?
• He worked hard but he failed.
• Vinit is loyal and genuine.
• I liked the movie but not the theatre.

Subordinating Conjunctions
• If conjunction joins one clause to another on which it depends for its
whole meaning is called subordinating conjunction.
• Subordinate conjunctions could denote time, cause or reason, purpose,
result, condition, place, manner or extent, comparison, concession or
contrast.
• For example, I found my notebook where I had missed it.
• As soon as I reached the school the ball stopped ringing
• He whispered in a low voice that nobody could hear him.
• He found the pen where he left it.

Correlative Conjunction
• The conjunction that works in pairs are called correlative conjunctions.
• They always work in pairs.
• These types of conjunctions join two equivalent sentences.
• These include either, or, neither, nor, not, but, also, though, yet, both,
and.
• For example, Sam not only bought some dresses but also picked up a
bouquet of roses.
• Both of my friend’s father and mother are doctors.
