ARGUMENT FOR THE BILL: this bill looks at providing platforms for the principles
of separation of power to thrive. It is very imperative that we have the different arms
existing independently without overbearing interference from other arms. This is very
pivotal to the effectiveness of a working system. The BOJ should not be made to be
ratified by the whims and caprices of the LSRC after being elected by the members of
their various classes. It is very needful to stress that members of the BOJ got augmented
as judges through an election - The same process that produced the members of SEC
and that of LSRC. The competence and qualification of members of the BOJ should not
be in dispute if they have been adequately screened and passed for election by the
electoral committee. This bill calls for BOJ to be elected by members of their various
classes; with the election being conducted by the electoral committee who shall also be
the one to screen and them and declare them qualified for an election.
BE IT AMENDED BY THE LAW STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES COUNCIL AS
FOLLOWS:

33.- (10) all members of the BOJ shall be elected by members of their various classes

(a) Elections into the BOJ shall be conducted by the electoral committee
