The Biggest Torment of a Mother and Her Son

You might want to ask what would be a mother's biggest torment she could live through
in her life. Is it washing plenty of dirty clothes all day long? Cooking dinner for her
husband and taking care of her children? Or the very tiring job of fixing the house and
doing all the chores? That was very tormenting, wasn't it? But I know and we know that
all mothers never consider those jobs tormenting at all; they even do them with a smile.
So what really is a mother's biggest torment she could experience? It will be seeing her
children unhappy and uncontent with the life they have, and the worst part will be
hearing them wish they had never been born.

The story behind my painting was based on real events. It shows a picture of a mother
and her son, who became silent after a huge fight. In the picture, the mother is lying in
her bed crying and looking so weak as if she just lost all of her strength. She is looking at
the ceiling very sadly and thinking repeatedly about what her son said. Her son on the
other side was about to go out of the room, but she looked at her mother one last time
before making another step on the way out. When he saw her mother looking straight
up at the ceiling while tears ran down her cheeks, he realized that the words he had said
to her mother were so painful and that he had hurt her big time. It made him also cry
because he didn't really mean what he said; it wasn't really what his heart wanted to
say; he was just carried away by his emotion and his anger.

Finally, the message that my painting wants to convey is that no matter how angry you
are with your mother, don't ever say words that will step on her character as your
parent, because it will hurt her to the bone and torment her. And the thoughts that you
once hurt your mother and made her cry will haunt you for the rest of your life, and
they will also become your biggest torment.
