What is ICT with example?

ICT stand for information and communication technologies and is defined,as a “diverse set of
technological tools and resources used to communicate,and to create, disseminate, store, and
manage information.”

EXAMPLE:
Email, Internet and Software.

What is Computer Science?

CS is the study of computers and algorithmic processes, including their principles, their
hardware and software design, their applications, and their impact on society.

Application of Computer Science:

Telecom:
Telecommunication is communication at a distance by technological means,
particulary through electrical signals or eletromagnetic waves.
Banks:
A financial institute licenced to receive deposits and make loans. Banks may also
provide financial services such as wealth management, currency-exchange and safe deposite
boxes.
Hospitals:
Hospital an institute in which sick or injuired people are given medical or
surgical.
SoftWare Development:
Software development refers to a set of computer science activities
dedicated to the process of creating ,Desiging, deploying and supporting software.
Freelancing:
Freelancer is a term commonly used for a person who is self-employed and is
not necessarily committed to a particular employer long-term.

What is a Computer?
A computer is an electronic device that helps people perform different tasks.
Example:
computer allows us to write letters, create pictures and make calculators.
Funcationalities of computer:

o Store data in its memoryand use them required
o Generates the input
COMPUTER COMPONENTS:
Computer have two main components Hardware and Software.

HARDWARE:
Hardware is a physical component of computer such as: moniter, keyboard or
mouse.
Software:
Software include computer programs that are necessary for the proper
functioning of the hardware. Example:
System software and Application software.
INPUT DEVICE:
Input any information or data that is sent to a computer for procesing such
as:
Scanner
Touchpads
Joystick
