in Environmental Studies, Ohio University

The Environmental Studies program in the Voinovich Depending on the interest of the student, applicants should

beginning January 2020. Students will be part of an
interdisciplinary research team examining organic
waste management, waste life cycle transformations,
institutional and behavioral analysis, dynamic systems,
smart tech development, closed-loop systems, and
innovative bioproducts development, such as compost,
biogas, biochars, and others. The research project,
Organic Waste Life Cycles at the interface of Food,

Energy, Water Systems (OWL-FEWs) is a multi-year Behavioral analysis, Socio-ecological systems, Policy analysis
project funded by the National Science Foundation
(NSF) and involves developing novel approach to
understanding, modeling, and changing organic waste
systems and co-product development.

Student support will include full tuition and living


stipend. Successful applicants should have the
minimum qualifications of: undergraduate degree

environmental sciences, or related fields; excellent Bioproducts, Energy systems, Life cycle analysis
written and oral communications skills; strong
quantitative research skills; attention to detail; ability
to work well in interdisciplinary research teams; and/or
prior experience with systems-level research.
