All the Simulink and Pinch Technology Questions

Simulink:
1-Simulink model of a combustion chamber. Discuss the choice of independent variables. Make two
different models by changing the independent variables from one to the other and justify.

2-Balance sheet of an evaporator with block diagram. Do it with evaporator located downstream of the
Cdc which exploits the hot fumes coming out of the cdc to evaporate water from saturated liquid to
saturated vapor. evaporating fluid are known (inlet mass flow rate m_ev,in; inlet evaporation
pressure p_ev,in; inlet title x_in) and the hot fluid (we know what fluid it is and we know the
inlet temperature T_hot,in ), build and discuss the design model, taking into account the
feasibility of heat exchange, and make the block diagram on simulink. Suggestions for carrying out:
starting from the definition of model and project model, explaining how many independent variables I
have to fix, explaining how to know the evaporation temperature; take into account the incoming and
outgoing title.

3-Simulink design models of gas turbine: fixed input, fixed power (separation between extensive and
intensive variables), fixed power (airflow regulation), fixed turbine output power and temperature. Two
different choices of the independent variables.

4-Simulink capacitor model.

5-Simulink of an expander, two design models with different choices of independent variables.

6-Simulink model of a compressor. Two models with several independent variables.

7-Simulink model of the turbine.

Pinch Technology:

1-Grand composite curve. What it represents, how it is built, what use is made of it.

2-composite curve and problem table that the problem table is given. Explain how they are built and
used with an example.

3-MER and MRC criterion. Maximum capital saving criterion.

4-present the pinch technology, necessary data and the procedures for obtaining them. The criterion of
maximum economic saving and maximum capital saving.
