With the help of ESCI Model the total score I got was 58. However, with this I came to know that
I am an emotionally intelligent person. I got 5 scores in question number 11 for Self-Awareness,
question 4 for Self-Regulation, question 12 for motivation, question 3 for Empathy, question 9
for Social Skills.
LOWEST SCORES: The lowest score I got for question 13 & 14 because of the difficulty I have in
reading other people’s emotions and the struggle to build a close relationship with the others
because of the trust issues. For example, there was time I was working for a firm in India and all
the colleagues were like a family to everyone but at that time one of my office partner had the
demise of his father and I was not able to find out about his emotions what he was going
through as well as I always have the problem of trusting anyone and don’t trust anyone easily.
Moreover, there was a time in my school when I got the nature of not understanding the
emotions of others, I always had the difficulty to ask or to guess the situation or mood of the
person. So, because of this nature I always face difficulty in making rapport with others and
these two points are from empathy and social skills. Looks like you have things to work on in the
HR program.
CHRONIC STRESSORS: There are two chronic stressors of my life first is bills and the second one
is future planning. I feel extremely low whenever there are many bills for me like EMI’s and bills
like electricity bills, water bills and many others. These kinds of bills make me stressed because
of my salary that I got from my work because the expense is more than the income. For
instance, I got $400 as a salary from my work but the amount of bills is almost $500, so this kind
of thing makes me stressed. The other stressor I feel makes my blood pressure high is future
planning about what to do in the future and how to manage my family. I must manage my work
and family at the same time and must plan what kind of work or business I have to do. So, this
type of stressors always makes me feel bad and make me full of stress in my daily life.Ok
EPISODIC STRESSORS: There are two episodic stressors that I feel gives me tension one is exams
and the second one is when I lost some loved ones. These two stressors are those which do not
disturb me daily but at one point it makes me feel that I am having trouble in my life. For
instance, whenever there are exams, I always have the worry to do it correctly and with focus to
get good grades. However, as in 2013 I lost my father and at that time I feel that life for me is
ended and I will never be able to do much in my life without the support of my father, but my
mother did the role of my father and gives the better life which I expected at that time. So, at
one point I was incredibly stressed because of the demise of my father but after some time I
came through that.Ok
Example of a problem-focused copying strategy that I always apply in my daily life is to make to-
do list in which I write down all the work I have to do in my daily life and manage by doing the
work at particular time so that I can stay relaxed, and stressors can be controlled.
An example of an emotion-focused copying strategy that I use to control stressors is by diverting
my mind with the help of activities like listening to music and reading books as well as painting.
These activities help me to relieve stress and help me to stay relaxed.
Emotional intelligence and Stress management are linked to each other as in emotional
intelligence people have manage and understand their emotions as well as they must
understand the others too. In stress management people with high EI can manage stress better
than others because they can know their and others’ emotions which help them to have better
mind and help them to be relaxed. Folks with strong EI can control their emotions and stay calm
to make stressful situations more balanced which helps them to have better interpersonal
relationships and better communication. Good. 9/10. Overall mark: 18/20 (5% grade). Keep
going.
