Greetings of peace in the name of St. Marie Eugenie of Jesus.

This second semester of SY. 2022-2023, the graduating batch of Performing Arts - Theatre Track
students of Assumption College - San Lorenzo, Makati, will be showcasing their Thesis
Production, an original titled “Sabel”, to be staged on May 19, 2023 at 6:00pm and May 20, 2023
at 11:00am; at Studio 1, AC campus. It is part of their final requirement for the following courses:
PA407 - Theater Recital/Thesis Production and Documentation, PA406 - Stage Craft, and PA405
- Production Management.

“Sabel”, an originally written one-act play by Ms. Angeles, Ms. Cordero, Ms. Lacson, and Ms.
PLapuz; is a collection of stories of unsung women (or ‘Isabels’) entrapped in the doom of some
of the problems existing in the country as of recent times; including issues surrounding hazing,
corruption, mental health, and sexual harassment.

Over the past semester, the students have been working hard on this production which shall serve
as a culmination of they learnings they have acquired from their past and present performing arts
classes, namely: PA204, PA302, PA304, PA306, PA308, PA402, PA403, and PA406. Through
this play, they will exhibit the skills and abilities that they have developed from their previous
classes for theater and the performing arts as a product of the school’s ABLe learning pedagogy,
allowing them to experience the full process of applying their lessons in an interdisciplinary
manner.

In this light, we would like to seek your approval for the following:

1. Request for entry of volunteer guest actors and production staff

In order to make the production as successful as possible, we would like to request

the entry of the following volunteer guest actors and production staff who can help widen
the students’ networks as well as enhance and bring new perspectives and experiences
to their work:

2. Request to accommodate a public audience

By giving the students the chance to stage “Sabel” for a public audience, we are
able to provide the students with exposure towards the AC community as well as their
close families and friends. Moreso, this will give the opportunity for the audiences to once
again engage with the arts after its long break brought upon by the COVID-19 pandemic.
We humbly request your good office to allow the public audience to watch the live
performances of “Sabel” on May 19, 2023 at 6:00pm and May 20, 2023 at 11:00am; at
Studio 1, AC campus.

3. Request to borrow the following materials:

We kindly request to borrow and re-paint the following materials form Metta/MRA
Stock Room that we may need for the production, namely:

- 8pcs of 8” x 4” plywood
- 4 pcs small stools
- 1 pc high stool
- 1 pc accounting table

Approval of such materials will be of great assistance for the students to create a
set that would add to the overall quality of the show. We understand that the school may
have limited resources, and we are committed to being respectful of any limitations that
may exist.

We hope for your earnest consideration of our requests and look forward to your enthusiastic
response. We are committed to ensuring that the students’ thesis production is of the highest
quality and will represent the school in the best possible way. In the event that you might need
