BACKGROUND

The success of forming a child's character is not only based on internal factors but is also greatly
influenced by the environment and external influences, where the role of parents is key in
determining the moral direction and behavior of children. One of the deepest events in society is the
extent to which parents must be responsible for criminal acts committed by their children.
By detailing the factors that influence the formation of a child's character and considering the legal
implications involved, this paper aims to provide a deeper understanding of the role of parents in
preventing child crime and maintaining harmony in society.
DISCUSSION
1.1 Reasons Why Children Commit Crimes ?
There is no doubt that some children engage in criminal activities, perhaps thinking that
they are invincible. However, there are some children who commit crimes, for example
bullying, drugs and others, while there are also some children who currently commit
criminal crimes such as rape and murder.

1.2 Reasons Why Parents Are Responsible And Irresponsible ?

So here there are two options. First, there are parents who want to be responsible for the
crimes committed by their children, but there are also parents who do not want to be
responsible for the crimes committed by their children.

1.3 Reasons Why Parents Must Be Responsible For Crimes Committed By

Their Children ?
The reason why parents want to be responsible for crimes committed by their children is
because parents have an important role in raising and educating their children so that they
can know what is right and what is wrong and so that they can become children who are
responsible for what they have done. . But even though parents are responsible for what
their children have done, this does not mean that their children feel that they are not
wrong. Parents can also punish their children if they commit crimes against other people

1.4 Reasons Why Parents Should Not Be Responsible For Crimes

Committed By Their Children
The reason why parents do not have to be responsible for crimes committed by their
children is because now children have the choice to be able to do what they think is
appropriate or not to do and if they have the mind to be responsible for the crimes they
have committed they can also instill good morals in themselves. If parents are responsible
for mistakes made by their children, it can make the child not feel guilty, unable to solve
the problem on his own and will do it again.
1.5 How do parents deal with crimes committed by their children
1. Give love, supervision and attention to children
Every child needs a strong, loving relationship with both parents. So they can feel comfortable and
trust. Children whose behavior is problematic and they commit malpractice usually have parents
who pay less attention to them, especially at an early age.

2. Show children how to behave properly

Children learn by imitang. The behavior, values, and atudes shown by parents and families
have a strong influence on the child. Values such as respect, honesty, and self-esteem inslled
in the family can be a strength for the child in the face of a negave environment. Children
tend to repeat such good behavior when they get praise and atenon from their parents.
3. Keep violence away from home

Domestic violence can be scary and dangerous for children. Children need a safe and
compassionate home. Children who witness domestic violence are not always the perpetrators
of violence, but they are likely to solve problems with violence.

4. Don't watch or watch a lot of violence in the media in front of children’s

Research shows that watching too much violence on television, in movies, and in video games
can have a negative impact on children. So, it's better for parents to see what their kids see in the
media.
