Course Description:

This course deals with the understanding of the roles of teacher as a person and as a professional within the context of national and global teachers’ standards,
educational philosophies and legal bases. It includes knowledge of core values that uphold the dignity of the teaching profession, discussion of the code of ethics for
professional teachers, and awareness and understanding of existing laws and jurisprudence governing professional rights, privileges and responsibilities, and teachers’
roles in the society as transformative agents of change.

The policies listed below may change throughout the semester depending on the country’s health situation and other concerns. Students are responsible for learning
about these changes. Announcements shall be posted in the course site.

A. Ethical Policies:
Students are expected to observe proper decorum at all times, in whatever learning modality. Learning tasks may be done outside the course scheduled time on
asynchronous mode; however, synchronous interaction shall be done during the course scheduled time so as not to disrupt other scheduled classes. Proper netiquette is

B. Academic Integrity Policy


Students are expected to strictly observe the Guidelines on Plagiarism and Academic Infringement.

Language of Instruction:
The medium of instruction for all the oral and written discourse in The Teaching Profession will basically be English. Filipino and the vernacular may be allowed in
informal interaction such as asking/answering clarificatory question and/or giving informal feedback.

Use of the Learning Management System:


The class will make use of Google Classroom as the major learning platform. That is where the professor and the students will upload/download learning tasks,
learning materials/resources and interact online. Gmail and facebook messenger may also be used as alternative platforms.

Dress and Grooming Codes:


The students are expected to be properly groomed and in decent attire during synchronous mode.

Caveat:
The conduct of teaching and learning may be affected by changes in policies issued by the university, the local government and the national government. Thus,
the professor reserves the right to make adjustments or changes throughout the semester. Students are responsible to learn about these changes if they miss any class
time.
