You work in Human Resources. You want to see if there is a difference in test scores after a
training program. You collect the following test score data: At the .10 level of significance,
was the training effective?
( Effective means “After” > “Before” )
There is always a hot debate in business schools during placement week that the final
placements, in general, are arbitrary and a candidate’s abilities do not really have any
correlation with the salary package offered to him/ her. To
test the correctness of the above assumption, a sample of 25 students was randomly
selected from an MBA class of a top business school. Their marks were taken as a measure of
their academic performances. They were given standard tests to assess them on three other
parameters, communication ability, general awareness, and IQ level. After the placement
week, data regarding salary was collected. The data is given in Table below.
