STEM FAIR PROJECTS

A HANDOUT FOR STUDENTS

THEME: "CULTIVATING CREATIVITY AND

INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS: BUILDING A
SUSTAINABLE FUTURE"
OBJECTIVE OF STEM FAIR
● To develop projects that demonstrates solution to what the students
deem as a ‘real world’ problem.

● To showcase ingenuity, student self-reflection and develop

products that solves a problem.

● Give students the opportunity to communicate what they

have learned to others.

● Celebrate student achievement.

STEM FAIR WILL HELP STUDENTS GAIN THESE SKILLS

● Following guidelines ● Analyzing Data

● Investigating ● Preparing reports from research

● Conducting Research ● Preparing displays

● Using scientific tools and ● Speaking and networking with other
techniques people
● Predicting and hypothesizing and
inferring
● Observing
How to select a Project topic for STEM fair?
Two approaches to a successful STEM project:
● Experimental/research approach
● Design/engineering approach - Building or innovating
something
Find a topic idea that is STEM based or “real problems” that they can address
using science, math and technology.
● Some examples of experimental/research topics may include:
• Biotechnology
• Nanotechnology
• Chemical Industries
● Some examples of Engineering topics may include:
• Computer Science
• Artificial Intelligence
• Smart Materials
STEM METHODS
Important points to note:
• The projects needs to be related to one or more areas from Science, Technology,
Engineering and Mathematics.
• Projects can be done individually or as a team (max 4 members).
• The project topic and details must be discussed and submitted in the provided format to
your subject teachers/STEM club patrons on or before 8th January, 2024.

• A Poster need to be prepared on an A3 sheet (only printouts- no handwritten) in the

provided format for all the projects and submitted by 14th January, 2024.

• Finalized projects along with the poster must be submitted to your subject teachers/STEM
club patrons by 14th January, 2024.
