Agreement between Submitter and Litro magazine

This Agreement is made once the submission is accepted by Litro Magazine, between
the Submitter (“Author”) and Litro magazine (“Litro”). Litro desires to publish the chosen
submission short story, Essay, creative nonfiction, poetry, or other (“the Work”).

1. Grant of License: The Author grants Litro the exclusive license to publish the
English language Work, in print, audio, and electronic form, throughout the world.
The Author retains the right to publish the Work in a book-length collection of the
Author’s works, or as part of a volume from which the Work is an extract.
2. Certification: The Author certifies that they own such rights and that the entirety
of the work is original to the Author. The Author guarantees to Litro that they will
not introduce into the work any matter of an objectionable or libellous character
which was not present in the Work.
3. Copyright: Copyright to the original work will remain with Litro unless otherwise
requested from the submitter, upon notification it will then be reverted back to
the Author.
4. Litro Anthology: This permission includes the right to reproduce the Work in any
Litro anthology.
5. Sublicensing: This permission includes the right to reproduce, promote, and
sublicense the work to other websites, magazines, or publishers. The proceeds of
any sublicense will be divided equally between the Author (or Original Publisher,
as designated), and Litro.
 6. Reservation of Rights: Litro reserves the right not to publish the work, in which
case Litro will revert all rights in the work to the Author. In the case of
non-publication of the translation, the Translator will not be compensated.
7. Reversion of Rights: If this work is not published by Litro in any form within
twelve months of the signing of this agreement, all rights herein discussed will
revert to the Author.
8. Promotion: The Author’s name will be prominently featured in Litro, and they will
be asked to provide a short biographical note. The Author will have the
opportunity to provide a link between this material and his or her own
professional website.

By submitting, it is agreed that the Author agrees to these terms and conditions.

Optional Waiver of Proceeds: The Author grants permission for the use of the Work
described above, and any sublicensing proceeds due to him or her, as a donation to
Litro.

Governing Law: This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with
the laws of the State of New York, United States.
