We have interviewed somone from our school who knows about the amount of trash our school

produces. We have a Dutch and English report:

2. Hoeveel Kilo afval gooit het Maerlant-lyceum weg?

RESTAFVAL ± 10.800 kg,

PAPIER ± 1500 kg

PMD heb ik geen gewicht van maar wekelijkse lediging van een 1100 Liter container

3. Wat doet Maerlant om het plastic afval te verminderen?

Geen plastic bekers en bestek meer, met de cateraar is een afspraak gemaakt om zo min mogelijk
voedsel in plastic te verpakken. Zo min mogelijk plastic zaken meer aanschaffen... Ook de
Duurzaamheidscommissie probeert hier paal en perk in te stellen.

3. What is Maerlant doing to reduce plastic waste?

No more plastic cups and cutlery, an agreement has been made with the caterer to pack as little food

as possible in plastic. Buy as few plastic items as possible... The Sustainability Committee is also trying

to put limits on this.
