ACTIVITY OF THE MONTH

Objective:
This activity will help you understand how different things around us happen to have
different densities.
Procedure:
Take a glass and add water in it with a few drops of food color. After that, add syrup
(having more density than water), followed by some quantity of cooking oil. You will see three
different layers forming. Add different materials too (mentioned in the video) to compare
their densities.

How it works
Density is the degree of compactness of a substance. Materials that are more compact
are denser than other materials. Moreover, when we mix different liquids, having different
densities, then they form layers in a way that the liquid with the lowest density stays at the
top.
