 Program Note

今年のクリスマス・コンサートでは、皆さまにバッハのカンタータをお贈りします。
バッハは、彼は⽣涯をかけて、教会⾳楽にとりくんだ作曲家です。昨年演奏したロ短調ミサ曲が彼の
教会⾳楽の集⼤成で祝祭的な⾳楽であったのに対し、カンタータは⽇常の礼拝のなかで演奏された⾳楽
です。その役割は、その⽇に選ばれた聖書箇所と賛美歌を⽤いて、⾳楽でキリスト教の教えを⼈々の⼼
に刻むことでした。カンタータは、⾳楽による説教とも⾔えるでしょう。
しかし、カンタータは美しい芸術⾳楽でもあります。歌と合唱、器楽がときに巧みに、ときに情緒を
もって⾔葉を彩っていきます。今⽇は、クリスマスを待ち望む季節、アドヴェントのためのカンタータ
を３曲演奏します。
BWV 132 は、1715 年にワイマールの宮廷での礼拝のために書かれた作品です。ワイマールの宮廷楽
師⻑になりたてのバッハのいきいきとした筆致が印象的です。
BWV 186a もワイマール時代のカンタータです（1716 年初演）
。この作品はライプツィヒのカントル
就任直後の 1723 年に拡⼤して改作されました。ワイマール時代の楽譜は失われていますが、バッハ学
者のウヴェ・ヴォルフが歴史資料をもとに再現したワイマール版で演奏します。
BWV 140 は、バッハのカンタータのなかで最もよく知られた作品のひとつです。第６曲はオルガン
曲としても有名です。この曲の演奏には、ICU の学⽣たちも加わります。
戦争や争いの悲しいニュースばかり⽬にする私たちですが、バッハの⾳楽によって、⽬を覚ましてキ
リストにある平和を待ち望みたいと思います。

This year's Christmas concert features Johann Sebastian Bach's cantatas.

Bach devoted his entire life to church music. While the Mass in B minor we performed last year was
the culmination of his sacred music of festive nature, the cantatas were performed in daily worship. Their
purpose were to bring Christian teachings to the people's hears through music, using the Bible verses and
hymns chosen for each Sunday. One can say that the cantata was sermon through music.
Also, cantatas are beautiful art music. Solo singing, chorus, and instruments embellish the words,
sometimes skillfully, sometimes emotionally. Today we will perform three cantatas for Advent, the season
of waiting for Christmas.
BWV 132 was written in 1715 for a service at the court of Weimar. Bach's lively brushstrokes are
impressive as he had just become the new Konzertmeister (director of music) at the Weimar court.
BWV 186a is another cantata from the Weimar period (first performed in 1716). It was expanded and
revised in 1723, shortly after his appointment as the Leipzig Cantor. The score from the Weimar period
has been lost, but Bach scholar Uwe Wolff has reconstructed it from historical sources. This is the edition
we are performing today.
BWV 140 is one of Bach's most famous cantatas. The 4th movement is also well known as an organ
piece. ICU students will participate in the performance of this piece.
We are all so often bombarded with sad news of war and strife, but Bach's music will help us to wake
up and look forward to peace in Christ.

Akira Harada 原⽥ 陽 Maki Horiuchi 堀内 ⿇貴 (Vn.)

東京芸術⼤学附属⾼校を経て同⼤学及び
ジュリアード⾳楽院卒。パリ国⽴⾼等⾳ ⼤学院修了。1985 年に新⽇フィルに⼊団
楽院で学び、S＆R 財団よりワシントン賞 以来フォアシュピーラーを努めている。
受賞。現在、バッハ・コレギウム・ジャ 2002 年度⽂化庁海外研修員としてドイ
パン、オーケストラ・リベラクラシカで ツに留学。古楽奏者としては OLC や BCJ
活動。 の活動に参加している。

Rieko Ikeda 池⽥ 梨枝⼦ (Vn.) Karito Ohmits ⼤光 嘉理⼈ (Vn.)

東京⾳楽⼤学を経て、同⼤学院⾳楽研 東京藝術⼤学を経て同⼤学院修了。ロス
究科修了。東京藝術⼤学⼤学院修⼠課 ト ロ ポ ー ヴィ チ 国 際 ⾳ 楽 祭 に 参 加 。
程修了。第 30 回 国際古楽コンクール 「PMF アカデミー2019」にてコンサー
〈⼭梨〉第 2 位。オリジナル楽器のオ トマスターを務める。令和 5 年度、豊⽥
ーケストラ、アンサンブル に多数参 ⽂化新⼈賞を受賞。横浜シンフォニエッ
加。 タヴァイオリン奏者。

て、現在は横浜シンフォニエッタ、菖蒲 コンクール優勝。バッハ・コレギウム・
弦楽三重奏団]、クァルテット・オチェー ジャパン、オーケストラ・リベラ・クラシ
アノ（ピリオド楽器）などのメンバー。 カのメンバー。

宗教⾳楽センターからのお知らせ SMC Announcement

森有正記念オルガンが改修されます
Restoration of the Arimasa Mori Memorial Organ

宗教⾳楽センター内にある森有正記念オルガン（草苅オルガン⼯房製作）は 2024
年度、本館の⼤改修に伴って、その⼤修復が⾏われます。オルガンは、2024 年に
3 ⽉に解体を開始し、⼩淵沢の草苅⼯房に運ばれ、2025 年 3 ⽉に再び組み⽴てら
れる予定です。16 フィートストップも加わります。
The organ at the Sacred Music Center (built by Kusakari Organ Workshop) will
undergo a major restoration in 2024 in conjunction with a major renovation of the
Main Hall. The organ will be disassembled in March 2024, transported to the
Kusakari Organ Workshop in Kobuchisawa, and reassembled in March 2025. A new
16-foot stop will be added!

メサイア・プロジェクトが始動しました
The SMC Messiah Project is now underway.

学⽣たちのイニシアチブで、2025 年 3 ⽉にヘンデルのメサイアを演奏しようというプロジェクトが始動しました。オー
ケストラも、合唱も ICU 学⽣が中⼼となり、プロの演奏家とコラボします。
On the initiative of the ICU students, a project to perform Handel's Messiah in March 2025 has been launched. The
orchestra and choir will be organized by ICU students in collaboration with professional musicians.

雅楽プロジェクト Gagaku Project

雅楽を学び、発表するプロジェクト 2020 年より始まりました。コロナ禍で留学⽣の⼊国が制限されていましたが、いよ

いよさまざまな国際的バックグラウンドをもつ学⽣たちとともに、学びを進めることができるようになりました。
A project to study Gagaku was started in 2020. After a long period of Corona pandemic, international students came back
to the ICU campus; all students from diverse backgrounds can study ancient sound together.
