Part 01
Steps of the producing the jewellery box along with a list of tools and
machines use.
1. First, we sketch the drawing of jewellery box on the metal sheet. For this
we use the steel rule, scriber (for marking the lines on metal sheet), and
divider.

2. After marking diagram cut that shape by using a straight snip.

3. Next, we should fold marked edges of figure 03 by using bar folding
machine.

4. Next, we should bend 90 degrees of the edges to form the hexagonal

shape of the tray. after, 22 mm long edges should be bend to perfectly
fitted on the lap joint. For this, we use a hatchet stake and a wooden
mallet (if not using wooden mallet, smoot edges can damage).

5. After that, we held the lap joint correctly and spot weld to join the lap.
Part 02

Describe general safety precautions followed in a sheet-metal shop.

• Always wear safety clothes (fibre or flammable), Safety shoes, rubber

gloves, goggles / welding shield, face mask and avoid wear watch and
jewellery.
• If have a long hair, tie up it.
• For walk the inside of shop use green colour walking track. it is safe.
• Keep workplace clean and remove a dispose of scrap metal sheet parts
to the box or barrel. for this do not use a hand, use a brush or Discarded
metal sheet piece.

Explain the process of bending and the importance of considering the

spring-back effect.

• Bending is a process by which sheet metal can be deformed by

plastically deforming the material and changing its shape along a
straight axis. The material is stressed beyond the yield strength but
below the ultimate tensile strength. The material's surface area does
not significantly change. Bending usually refers to deformation about
one axis.
• When a material is bent, spring back occur when it tries to angularly
return to its original shape. An operator would overbend to the
bending angle, which is angularly past the required bent angle, when
fabricating on the press brake in having to compensate for the spring
back. Spring back is dependent on various material characteristics
but can be affected by tooling design. elastic modulus, strength,
thickness, and bend radius are the most major elements.
Part 03

Design a pattern to produce a development for a rectangular duct with end

connections. Name all features of the pattern and tools used for fabricating
the article with steps.

1. First, sketch the drawing one side of rectangular duct with suitable
dimensions on the metal sheet. Similarly, make 3 trays. For this we use
the steel rule, swing blade protractor, scriber, and divider.

2. After cut the outer line and marked two-line in the diagram. we can cut
that shape by using a straight snip.
3. Next, bend 90 degrees of the edges. we can use for this bar folding
machine, hatchet stake and a wooden mallet.

4. After that, we held the lap joint show on figure and spot weld to join
the lap using spot welding machine.
