TEST 5

Test 5 page 31 task 4

Listen and tick the correct answer.

Hi! My name is Kate and I had the best winter holidays ever! I went to the
mountains with my family for two weeks. First, we skied and skated a lot. There
was a lot of snow, so I sledged and played snowballs with my brother. We made
three snowmen together and our parents helped us. I watched many snowflakes
falling down and our dog, Donny, tried to catch them. Our hotel was very nice but
not very comfortable. It was on the top of the mountain and the town was at the
bottom, so it wasn’t easy to get there. Every evening, after dinner, I read some
books about the poles on Earth. There is one in the North and another one in the
South. They are called the Arctic and the Antarctic. I read that life there is very
difficult and dangerous because the weather is very cold. But some animals live
there, like polar bears and penguins. It sounds strange but penguins are not really
birds because they swim, not fly. They are intelligent and can stay on dry land, too.
Oh, I wish I could see them one day!

TEST 6

Test 6 page 38 task 4

Listen to the text and put T (true) or F (false) next to the sentences.

Last summer I travelled to Paris with my friends, Vicky and Rick. We went by
train. There were a lot of people at the railway station, so we had to be careful not
to lose our luggage. Rick went to the information desk and they said that our train
was at platform number 2. There were many passengers on it and when it was time
to show our tickets I couldn’t find them! Luckily, Vicky had everything on her
smartphone. Our trip to Paris was not very long – only 2 hours. We had some tea
on the train, talked about what to see and to do in the city and even played a game
with cards. After we arrived, Rick, Vicky and I took a taxi to get to our hotel. My
suitcase was the heaviest one, so the driver helped me carry it. We stayed in a nice
hotel in the city centre. I wasn’t very tired, but Vicky and Rick were. So, we
relaxed in our room for 30 minutes and then went for a walk in the park. There
were some children playing with their dogs and cats. We joined them and had a lot
of fun!
