TANGLAW UPPER PASTO OUTREACH PROGRAM PLAN

Agenda: To reach out to the the Kalamuya and Kankanaey families in Sitio Upper Pasto and
Sitio Lising, Brgy. Capintalan, Carranglan, Nueva Ecija in partnership with Jacobs Philippines
and Diocese of San Jose. Support to be provided are the following:
• 31 Sunking Hom 60 solar home systems for 22 families in Sitio Upper Pasto and 9
families in Sitio Lising
• 1 Mission 600 Portable Power Station for Sitio Upper Pasto Tribal Hall
• Community Mapping & GPS Tagging of Households

A. Program of Activities:
Oct 14, 2023 - Saturday
Schedule Activity Description
5:30am - 6:00am Meetup in Mcdo, Katipunan, Travel from different locations and meet-
Quezon City up in Mcdo, Katipunan, Quezon City.
Volunteers are encouraged to have
breakfast at home or come early in Mcdo
Katipunan to have their breakfast (Mcdo is
24 hours)
6:00am – 11:00am Travel from to Capintalan ES Travel from Mcdo Katipunan to Capintalan
ES. Stop-overs for CR-break to be agreed
prior departure from Mcdo Katipunan and
shall be kept short to save time.
11:00am – 11:30am Trek to Sitio Upper Pasto Vehicles to be parked in Capintalan ES
except the pick-up carrying the solar home
systems, power station and supplies and
will be unloaded in the tribal hall.
Volunteers to trek from Capintalan ES to
Sitio Upper Pasto.
11:30am – 11:45am Welcoming Remarks / Host partner to welcome the volunteers.
Orientation Everyone introduces their names. Solar
Hope to provide brief orientation on the
activities for the outreach.
11:45am – 12:30pm Lunch Team to have delicious lunch with the host
partner in the community.
12:30pm – 1:00pm Preparation for Outreach and Volunteers to help in the preparation of
Setup / Registration of donations and set-up. In parallel,
Beneficiaries beneficiaries are to register to confirm their
attendance on the outreach program.
1:00pm – 1:15pm Opening Remarks Host partner and Project leads from
Jacobs and Solar Hope to provide their
opening remarks.
1:15pm – 1:30pm Ice Breaker Everyone to have a short ice breaker
before the program.
1:30pm – 2:15pm Community Consultation There will be a sharing of challenges and
needs from the community with the
volunteers to have a better understand of
the community.
2:15pm – 2:35pm Turn-over of Solar and Bags of Solar and Bags of Hope will be turned-
Hope over to the 31 beneficiaries from Sitio
Upper Pasto and Sitio Lising. Mission
Power Station will be turned-over to the
community leaders.
2:35pm – 2:55pm Solar Lighting and Orientation Solar Hope with the help of volunteers will
lead the orientation on how to operate and
install the Solar Home System and the
Do's and Don'ts and to assure the
beneficiaries that the units are working
when they receive it.
2:55pm – 3:10pm Closing Remarks Closing messages from one of the
beneficiaries and the host partner.
3:10pm – 3:15pm Picture Taking (Beneficiaries Picture/video taking as a whole
can go home after)
3:15pm – 3:30pm Rest / Groupings Volunteers to rest for the 1st half of
activities then will be grouped accordingly:
6 groups:
3 groups – installation of solar home
system to nearby homes
1 group – installation of solar power
station to tribal hall
1 group – community mapping thru sketch
1 group – GPS tagging of households and
key locations
3:30pm – 5:00pm Divided Activities Volunteers will perform their activities
based on their groups.
5:00pm – 5:30pm Debriefing / Thank you Jacobs Volunteers to have a short
sharing/debriefing of their experience and
to give thank you token to Jacobs for
helping the community.

their assigned homestay and get to know
the family that will host them.

tagging of households is still not yet done,

before settling down.
