Why You Should Get the PMP

 International, non for profit, started by volunteers, focused on project management best practices for any kind
of projects( IT, construction,…)

chapters, and training seminars, and providing accreditation in project management.

1) 1984: Project Management Professional (PMP).

2) 2003: Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).

3) 2007: Program Management Professional (PgMP).

4) 2008: PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP).

5) 2008: PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP).

Eligibility.
To be eligible for the PMP certification, you must meet certain educational and professional experience
requirements..

PMP Certification Fees

 The exam eligibility period (the period of time during which you are able to test) is one year. You may
take the examination three times within this one-year eligibility period should you not pass on the first
attempt.
PMI Audit Process.

 The submission of an application indicates your agreement to comply with the terms of the audit
process.

 All applications are subject to an audit, although only a percentage of applications are selected for
audit.

 If your application is selected for an audit, you will be notified by email prior to payment of the
certification fee.

During an audit, you will be asked to submit supporting documentation such as:

1. Copies of your diploma/global equivalent.


2. Signatures from your supervisor(s) or manager(s) from the project(s) recorded in the experience.
3. Copies of certificates and/or letters from the training institute(s) for each course recorded on the
application to meet the required contact hours of project management education.

The exam is divided into three sections.

 You will have two 10 minute breaks. The first will appear after you complete questions 1 - 60 and
review all of your answers.

 The second break will appear after you have completed question 120 and confirmed that you have
reviewed all of your answers.

 When you are signed back in after each break, you will have the remaining allotted time to complete
the second part.

 In total, you will have 230 minutes to respond to 180 questions.


PMP Examination Blueprint.

 The following represents the percentage of questions in each domain that are included in the
examination.

half of the examination will represent predictive project management approaches and the other half will
represent agile or hybrid approaches. Predictive, agile, and hybrid approaches will be found throughout the
three domain areas listed above and are not isolated to any particular domain or task.
Role Delineation Study
 DOMAINS, TASKS, AND ENABLERS (updated structure for the PMP Examination Content Outline).

 Based on feedback from customers and stakeholders, PMI worked on simplifying the format so that the PMP
Examination Content Outline is easier to understand.

 tasks, and enablers as defined by the Role Delineation Study.

1) Domain:

 Defined as the high-level knowledge area that is essential to the practice of project management.

2) Tasks:

 The underlying responsibilities of the project manager within each domain area.

3) Enablers:

 Illustrative examples of the work associated with the task. (few examples to help demonstrate what the task
encompasses)
