SCENE ONE: INT. LIAM’S BEDROOM – EVENING

(Liam, Amelia, Sofia, Alfie, Abi)

LIAM (VO): I remember that day so clearly. Everyone was in

room, Sofia on sat on the floor scrolling
through TikTok, Alfie, Abi and Amelia sat on my
bed around the laptop, and I was playing
Fortnite.

MUSIC:

SOUND: CLICKING OF KEYBOARD ANDD MOUSE, TIKTOK VIDOES

AUDIOS

LIAM: Alf did you just see that, he’s fazing though
my walls.

AMELIA: Liam can you be quite I can’t think.

SOUND: SMASHING OF KEYBOARD

LIAM: He’s hacking.

AMELIA: LIAM SHUT UP.

ABI: Amelia just let him be, you really think he’s
gonna be helpful.

SOFIA: Guy’s I knew it sounds stupid but some advert

just come up on TikTok, about an all-inclusive
luxury hotel, 5 minute walk form the strip in
Ayia Napa.

ABI: Sofia that’s not stupid we should have a look.

ALFIE: Send the link over.

SOUND: NOTIFICATION

ALFIE: Liam you gonna play another game?

LIAM: Na its fine I’ll come off now and come help.

AMELIA: Finally.

SOUND: TYPING ON KEYBOARD

ABI: I think we should book it.

3
SOFIA: Yeah, I agree I guess it just seems a little
too good to be true with the price.

AMELIA: I’m going to the toilet, don’t touch or book

anything while I’m gone.

Sound: FOOTSTEPS FOLLOWED BY DOOR OPENS AND THEN

CLOSES

LIAM: Let’s just book it.

SOFIA: No let’s just wait; we haven’t properly looked

in to it.

ALFIE: I’ve just been payed. Plus, if we book this

one, I’ll have more money to spend on other
things as it’s below the price we thought we’d
be paying.

ABI: OK, let’s just book it.

LIAM (VO): I just remember the excitement when the booking

conformation came through. Amelia was still
annoyed that we booked the holiday when she
told us to wait but we could tell she was also
secretly exited.

We spoke about it every day for months, waiting

for the 31st of July to come round.

The day finally come round, we all stayed round

Alfie’s the night as he lives closest to the
airport. No one could sleep. The rooms were
full of stress and excitement.

SCENE 2: INT ALFIE’S HOUSE – 4AM

(Liam, Amelia, Sofia, Alfie, Abi)

SOUND RUSSLING OF BEDSHEETS, FOOTSTEPS

AMELIA: OMG GUYS WAKE UP, WAKE UP. WE’RE LATE.

SOFIA: What’s happening, why you shouting. It’s like

2:30 our alarms haven’t even gone off yet.

ALFIE: I literally only just feel sleep.

ABI: Amelia just calm down. Breathe.

4
AMELIA: It’s 4:03.
Someone go wake up Liam. NOW

ABI: Amelia, just sit down a second and breathe.

AMELIA: No time for that. Everyone needs to be ready to

go now.

LIAM: Good morning, everyone, how did you all sleep.

AMELIA: Liam go get dresses we are leaving.

SOUND: FOOTSTEPS DOING DOWNSTAIRS AND SUITCASES BEING

WHEELED ACROSS DRIVEWAY, 2 OR 3 CARS DRIVE PAST
HIS HOUSE, RAIN AND WIND

AMELIA: Ok thank god they excepted our uber that quick.

ALFIE: Erm spoke to soon, you might have to find

another uber.

SOFIA: WHAT WHY?

ALFIE: The drivers just cancelled on us.

AMELIA: OMG YOU’RE ACTUALLY JOKING.

LIAM: It’s fine, just try again.

ABI: I’m sure another uber will take our trip.

LIAM (VO): After waiting for another uber to arrive we

finally were on route. From Alfie’s house the
airport is about 30 minutes away so even though
Amelia was stressing we left with a good amount
of time.

SCENE THREE: INT. MINIBUS - 4:35AM

(Liam, Amelia, Sofia, Alfie, Abi, Uber Driver)

SOUND: CAR ENGINE, RAIN AND WINDSCREEN WIPERS, RADIO.

AMELIA: How long till we are at the airport?

DRIVER: Form here normally 10 minutes, google maps

saying we sit in stand still traffic for 15
minutes.

5
SOFIA: Is there any way we can avoid it?

DRIVER: No. That’s the only entrance to terminal 5.

ABI: Let’s just hope google is wrong and it starts

moving soon.

DRIVER: What times your flight?

LIAM: 6:30.

DRIVER: Should have woken up earlier then.

AMELIA: WE TRIED BUT NOONES ALARMS WENT OFF.

ALFIE: Sorry about her.

SOFIA: WE ARE GONNA MISS OUR FLIGHT.

ABI: Everyone calm down.

LIAM: Yeah, everyone chill out.

SOFIA: You two won’t be saying that when we miss the

flight.

LIAM (VO): At 5am we finally arrived at the airport.

Amelia and Sofia finally relaxed a little and
the holiday suddenly became even more real. I
remember waiting in the queue to check in for
what felt like hours. The queue was barely
moving.

SCENE FOUR: INT. AIRPORT - 5:20AM

(Liam, Amelia, Sofia, Alfie, Abi, CheckIn Worker -(CIW))

SOUND FOOTSTEPS, SUITCASES, PEOPLE TALKING,

ANNONCMENTS

CIW: Hello everyone, all exited for your travels.

ALFIE: Yeah just been a stressful morning.

CIW: Well hopefully everything goes smoothly now

you’re at the airport.

AMELIA: We bloody hope so.

SOFIA: Amelia.

6
AMELIA: Sorry.

CIW: So where are you all flighting to today?

LIAM: Ayia Napa.

CIW: Well, how lovely and I can tell you you’re

certainly at the right check in desk.

ABI: Thank goodness, finally something has gone

right.

CIW: Please can I have everyone’s passports so I can

check your luggage onto the flight.

SOFIA: Abi, what’s wrong?

SOUND RUSSLING THROUGH BAG

ABI: Nothing, you can start checking their bags in

while I try find my passport, it’s in my bag
somewhere.

LIAM: Let me help you lift your suitcase on the belt.

SOUND SUITCASE BEING LIFTED

AMELIA: Thanks.

CIW: So, Amelia, I’m afraid to say that your luggage

is 1kg over THE 20kg weight limit, meaning you
can either pay the extra cost for overweight
baggage or try putting items in other people’s
bags.

AMELIA: I’m not sure how that’s happened I double

checked the weight like 10 times.

CIW: Don’t worry it’s a common thing that happens,

so what would you like to do.

AMELIA: ERM, I’ll just pay it.

LIAM: Wait would you be able to quickly weight mine

to see if she can fit anything in there?

CIW: Yes, Sure thing.

SOUND: SUITCASE BEING LIFTED OFF AND RELACED ON BELT

7
CIW: That case is 19.9kg, so 0.01kg underweight.

AMELIA: Don’t worry about it, I’ll pay for overweight

baggage.

SOFIA: Abi have you found your passport yet?

ABI: I think I left it on Alfie’s kitchen table,

when we were all laughing at our photo’s.

ALFIE: Pass the bag here and let me check.

SOUND: RUMMAGING THROUGH BAG

CIW: I’m afraid if you cannot find the passport, I

can’t allow you to travel today.

ALFIE: It’s 100% not in there.

Let me call my mum and see if she can run it

down for us.

ABI: Look it’s ok, there’s no way she’d make it

intime anyways. I’ll just look for the next
flight and join you guys in a few days.

SOFIA: No, you can’t travel on your own, I’ll stay

with you.

LIAM: You’re sure you’re ok flighting out by yourself

on the next flight.

ABI: Yeah, I’ve flown millions of times. I know the

drill.

You guys all have fun and I’ll call my mum to

come pick me up, see you soon.

Love you all and safe flight.

ALFIE: You are sure you’re going to be ok, one of us

can stay with you.

ABI: Don’t be silly it’s my fault I forgot my

passport and none of you should play the price.

Now go before you don’t have time for breakfast

because I know that Liam is starving.

CIW: Well have a lovely journey and safe flight and

I hope you guys are all reunited soon.

8
LIAM (VO): I felt so so sorry for Abi, she was so excited
about this trip. I can’t even tell you how
devastated I knew she was, she’s aways putting
on a brave face and sees the good in every
situation, it didn’t deserve to happen to her.

We queued up for security and were joking

around about what if all our bags get searched
and we’ll all set of the metal detector.

SCENE FIVE: INT. SECURITY – 5:50

(Liam, Amelia, Sofia, Alfie)

SOUND: AlARM’S, VOICES, CONVAYERBELTS, BAGS BEING

UNZIPPED, TRAYS, PHONES RINING, FOOTSTEPS,
COUGHING

SOFIA: So did everyone one set off the machine.

LIAM: Yep, I’m not actually sure why but whatever.

SOFIA: Does that not seem a bit strange to you though.

AMELIA: Does what seem strange.

SOFIA: That all our bags got searched and all the
alarms when off.

ALFIE: Look your overthinking it all way too much, all

the stressful bits have finished now.

AMELIA: My bag only got searched because I didn’t think

lip gloss was a flid.

LIAM: I had a bottle of coke in my bag so that’s why

mine when off.

ALFIE: Mine was forgetting to take my portable charger

out my bag.

LIAM: Please can we go get breakfast I’m literally

starving.

SOFIA: Ok, I think Abi forgetting her passport has

just stressed me out loads as our plans have
now changed.

9
AMELIA: Just enjoy yourself, you only get to be 17 and
going on holiday with your mates once.

LIAM (VO): We finally got to the restaurant. Everyone

ordered pancakes with strawberry’s, banana and
chocolate sauce. I could you not it was best
breakfast I’ve had in a long time. However,
they did mess up the order when brining the
food out. They brought bacon and maple syrup
pancakes instead. It was no big deal though
they remade our meals with no fuss.

No one was keeping an eye on the time and none

of us heard our gate being called until we
heard the announcer saying last call for the
6:30 plane to LCA. We quicky payed for our food
and pelted it to gate number 24.

SCENE SIX: INT. AIRPORT - 6:25

(Liam, Amelia, Sofia, Alfie)

SOUND: FOOTSTEPS, HEAVY BREATHING, BAGS BEING DRAGGED,

COUGHING, PEOPLE TALKING, ESCOLAORS, RUNNING
OVER METAL GRIDS

SOFIA: No way we are making it to the gate, it’s on

the other side of the terminal.

AMELIA: Less talking more running.

LIAM: Hurry up you lot or I’ll be the only one

getting on the plane.

ALFIE: Shut up Liam you’re the only one who likes to

run around after an egg-shaped ball for fun.

LIAM: Awh Alf can you not keep up. Your little
football legs tired.

ALFIE: Fuck off Liam, I’m right behind you. Plus you
had heads start.

Girls you, ok?

AMELIA: I guess so, tell Liam to go head so they know

we are coming.

LIAM (VO): I wish I had my tracker on because I’m telling

you that was the fastest and the longest time

10
I’ve sprinted for, flat out. I think my academy
coaches would have been pretty pleased with
that perfomance. I made it to the gate at 6:09
with the others trickling behind me. The cabin
crew where lovely enough to wait for them to
catch up.

We boarded the plane and got greeted by the

cabin crew and pilot. As we walked down the
plane, we noticed that there was a group of
people sat in our seats. They refused to move
for a solid 15 minutes making us miss our take
off slot. The cabin crew finally where able to
move them to their correct seats. We were just
moments away from being on your way to Ayia
Napa.

SCENE SEVEN: INT. AEROPLANE – 7AM

(Liam, Amelia, Sofia, Alfie, PILOT, CABIN

CREW, PASSENGERS)

SOUND Announcement sound.

PILOT: Hello everyone and welcome aboard this pace to

LCA. We are currently first in line for take-
off and will be in the air in approximately two
minutes. Due to the weather conditions this
morning we will be expecting some turbulence,
we are also hoping to set off before the storm
get worse. We do ask that you please fasten
your seat belts at this time and secure all
baggage underneath your seats or in the
overhead compartments. Thanking you for
choosing to fly with us and please let my
wonderful cabin crew know if you need anything
throughout the journey. Enjoy your flight.

SOUND Fastening seat belts, closing of overhead

lockers and people talking.

SOFIA: So, we are flighting through a storm?

ALFIE: Well hopefully avoiding it as we are about to

take off

11
SOUND SAFLTY BRIEFING IN THE BACKROUND OF THEM
SPEAKING

LIAM: Guys be quiet and listen to the briefing.

AMELIA: I’ve listed to them hundreds of times and they

all say the exact same thing. I bet I could go
up and do the briefing and get it 100% right
and 2x quicker.

AFLIE: Well, that’s just not true is it.

SOFIA: Maybe we should listen you never know; they

might have changed stuff.

LIAM (VO): I can tell you that I normally never listen to

the briefings like Amelia said they never
change, but for some reason I decided to.

We had a bumpy take off from the wind, however

when we got higher it started to calm down. We
were about 20mins in to the flight when the
wind picked up.

SOUND Seat belt sign alert.

Cabin Crew: We are experiencing a little bit of turbulence

but it nothing to be ……

SOUND CRACKLING OF SPEAKER, ALARMS GOING OFF, LIGHTS

GO OUT, PEOPLE SCREAMING.

Passengers: SCREAMING

SOFIA: OK WHATS HAPPENING.

ALFIE: I THINK IT’S JUST TERBULANCE.

AMELIA: WELL THEN WHY HAS THE LIGHTS GONE OUT.

ALFIE: IT’S PROBABBLY MESSING WITH THE SIGNAL OF THE

PLANE.

SOFIA: OMGGGGGG I JUST SAY LIGHTING

LIAM: Your probably seeing things, just stop

panicking.

AMELIA: DID ANYONE JUST HEAR THAT.

12
SOFIA: HEAR WHAT!

AMELIA: THE BANGING SOUND.

SOFIA: THE PLANES STARTED TO DESENT I CSN FEEL IT.

ALFIE: OK YES SAME

LIAM: We are probably just going in lower altitude to

get away from the winds or something, the pilot
knows what he’s ……

SOUND MORE ALARM SOUNDS, WINDOWS START TO SMASH,

OXYGEN MASKS FALL, THUNDER, LIGHTNING AND RAIN

ALL: SCREAMS

LIAM: All I can remember was everything slowly went

silent. I woke up to a loud bang, I couldn’t
move, my arm felt as if it was getting hotter
and hotter. I tried to open my eyes, but I
couldn’t see anything. I layed there
hopelessly. Waiting for someone to get me out.

I’m not sure how long I was there for until I

could finally see what was happening out me, I
looked to my left and saw Amelia and Sofia
hugging each other, I tried taking to them. But
no reply, I slowly turned my neck to the right
to see Alfie. His head rested on the seat in
front of him. I knew he was dead, but I didn’t
want to believe it. All three of them were
dead. I screamed as loud as I could but
received no response. Was I the only one who
survived? But why me? I still question it do
this day. It started off as 5 and ended with 2.
