Chhattisgarh, India: These Artisans are specialized in developing creative |
handicrafts especially from bamboo. Their products are mostly the décor

Most of the Artisans belong to the local tribes and have mastered the art of
creating beautiful handcrafted toys, flutes, wooden trays, mugs, special
bamboo curtains, wooden body for wall clocks, pen / pencil stands and
wooden deity idols. These products have made their way into the Indian
homes as well as international through traditional means and methods. in |
the recent years this region has seen substantial development in
infrastructure with good roads, emergence of new regional banks, new
school buildings ete. This has led to moderate growth in both public and
private transportation. Although, Handicraft products of this region is now
able to find new customers who travel to their locality for direct purchase
but, many people mostly prefer to buy these crafts online, which is thus
hampering their overall sales as claimed by these local Artisans. This has
compelled the Artisans to sell their produce to middleman for very little
profits. Handicraft Council of India is planning to provide a feasible
solution to all such Artisans in the country so that these Artisans can sell |
their crafts online through Government support. |
