As Blake, he toiled and suffered and learned to empa-
thize with others, deciding to become a doctor to allevi-
ate the suffering of others. After a few years of this he
felt an overpowering urge to vacation in Norway. While
hiking alone, again by strange compulsion, he came
across a party of Kronan raiders, rock men from another
world. Having been spotted he limped away to a cave
but found himself trapped and unable to move further
by a rock slide. His cane broke when he attempted to
use it for leverage, so he picked up a sturdy wooden
cudgel and in frustration smashed it against the rocks.
The cudgel transformed into a hammer and Donald into
a magnificent godlike being. An inscription “Whosever is
worthy to hold this hammer shall wield the power of
Thor.” With this power Blake easily bested the Kronans,
and returned to New York.
For years he acted as a super hero there, thinking that
he was a mortal merely granted the ability to wield the
power of a god. Eventually he would learn the truth, and
now he spends his days protecting the mortal world and
the Realm Eternal from all threats.
He founded the Avengers with the original team when
they banded together to defeat Loki. These days, those
five and Steven Rogers act as the much larger teams
Board of Directors.
