Week #1 (18-22 Sep) – Week #12.
• Tutorials: Week #2 (25-29 Sep) – Week #13.

Course description:
This is the first of the two courses in Calculus which concentrates on basic aspects of
single-variable functions (limits, continuity, derivatives and applications, integrals, and
applications), numerical sequences and series.

Course grading:
Students will be assessed by:
(1) Continual Assessments: 40% (consisting of Midterm Test: 25%, Attendance 5%, and
Bonus at each tutorial session 10%).
(2) Final Exam: 60%.

Pearson, 2016.
• Nguyễn Đình Trí, Giáo trình Toán cao cấp I, II, III, NXB Giáo dục, 2005.

• Kreysgiz E., Advanced Engineering Mathematics, 10th Edition, John Wiley & Sons, 2011.

Important information:
By the “Undergraduate Academic Policies” of USTH dated Dec 22nd, 2022, students
must attend at least 9 (of 12) tutorial sessions; otherwise, they are not allowed to take the
final exam.
