underprivileged areas where employees are guaranteed a living wage and can afford to attend
school. For the producers and craftspeople, this in turn assures a sustainable way of life.
Environmental protection is a key component of the brand's code of conduct, and it has been
included in the manufacturing process through the use of natural dyes and materials, sun-dried
textiles, and appropriate waste management procedures.

Problem Facing and solution

The high price range is Aranya Crafts Ltd.'s main issue. Future complications may be severe as
well. due to the emergence of several new businesses that emphasize the use of natural dyes in
their goods. One of them is the Chars' friendship colors. They might be an issue for Aranya in the
near future if they provide cheaper pricing than Aranya. Aranya, on the other hand, has greater
labor costs due to the location of their manufacturing in an urban region, which drives up the cost
of the product's pricing as well.

In order to prevent market saturation. To resolve these two issues, Aranya must take action. In my
opinion, Aranya can add some fresh designs to every product range. Customers are unhappy with
our outdated design, according to a consumer survey. They seek a fresh design variation of our
product. Customers who believe that a product's pricing is excessively high would have some
choices if these new designs were implemented throughout all product lines.

9|Page
Copyright @ North South University, 2022
Aranya can also relocate its production from Dhaka to a region with lower labor costs. They may
also teach jobless residents of our nation's rural areas to participate in social work, which would
cut manufacturing costs.

Aranya may set up a number of events where they can demonstrate how these things are made.
Why is it so difficult to produce these goods when so much labor needs to be done by hand and
without the aid of a machine? Consumers will be better equipped to assess the quality of the
product if they can see how it is created. If a price reduction is not an option, the company must
use marketing to persuade consumers that the amount they are paying is acceptable.

A small minority of people have also voiced criticism of the designs. They complained that
although the designs were excellent, they had been seeing them for a long time.

Due of the limited applications of natural dyeing, this issue is quite difficult to resolve. Aranya can
address this issue by bringing on fresh designers. Or they might send foreign trainers to train the
local ones. Many brands, including Anthemia, Gia Conception, elder brother, Sustain, and Tentree,

10 | P a g e
Copyright @ North South University, 2022
are available in the USA. With natural dyeing, they are making some very stunning work. Aranya
is able to send its trainees to the USA. There are certain brands that focus on using natural dyes
even in India. Bhusattava, Forty, Red Bangles, Anokhi, Tvach, and India Green are a few of them.
These Indian companies are also producing some really incredible designs. Aranya also has access
to Indian designers for training.

From my perspective, Aranya's failure to expand its market is a further challenge. Its majority of
customers are in their 40s or 50s. This indicates that many members of the younger generation are
unaware that a brand with this much originality exists. Although it's possible that this younger
generation doesn't have the means to buy Aranya's items right now, they will in the future. Using
the technologies that the younger generation like to utilize, Aranya may develop a fresh marketing
initiative. This marketing won't be centered on items; rather, it will be a way for firms to introduce
themselves. From my perspective, another flaw is that Aranya's membership card doesn't provide
more.

In the same way as Aarong recently introduced Jaya Ahsan as a model, Aranya can introduce some
new models from the older generation who are well-liked in the society. Nasia Tushi or Safa Kabir
might be presented by Aranya as models for clothing. Aranya will be quite happy with the
promotion.

Company’s Current state

The current state of Aranya is very sensitive. Because their sales decreasing day by day. Because
of promotion, they are not increasing their sales. Every day they are facing financial problems.
Employers are leaving their company every month because Aranya can not increase their salary
and they give their salary after 15 days of the new month.

Also designing department can not work properly. The production department is not too fast. They
work very slowly that’s the reason customers can not see new design products. Due to some
reasons, Aranya’s Head designer also left the job. The marketing department, they have only one
marketing member. This is too much tough to work lonely in the whole department. That’s why
the assistant officer also leaves the job.

As a result, we can tell that the current state of Aranya is not good for the future market and
compete another clothing brand.

The Project Part

Introduction
The internship is an integral part of a student’s academic progression, especially for those who
belong to a Business discipline. Students learn how businesses actually operate over the course of
these three months.

As a result, the internship experience is quite important since it equips students with a taste of what
it's like to work in the real world. I was given the job of doing my internship at Aranya Crafts
Limited. The report's primary goal is to give a study of Aranya Crafts Limited's “Marketing
Research and branding strategy”. However, there is a more general goal driving this investigation.

The following is a summary of the studies' goals:

Objectives
• Gaining knowledge of Branding and Market Research.
• Understanding the process of target marketing.
• To comprehend brand management practices and how businesses carry out their brand
strategies on the market.
• To identify the customer market survey.
• Budget for marketing and ad campaigns.

Significance of the Study

I think the study will provide a wealth of information on Aranya Crafts Limited's branding and
marketing research. I will get the chance to master various marketing strategy components. It will
be made up of my observations and experiences I had while working as an intern. In order for the
business to operate more effectively and efficiently, my study will include general marketing
research, branding, activities, promotions, and design of the customers of Aranya Crafts Limited.
I believe that these areas can eventually be adjusted, altered, and improved in specific ways.

12 | P a g e
Copyright @ North South University, 2022
Budget of the Study
• Financial Budget: I am doing a paid internship. The company has promised to pay 5
thousand takas per month. And also they will provide my transportation cost when I have
to need to go anywhere for this research. The transportation cost will be covered by Aranya
Crafts Limited as well wholly when I go to visit somewhere for company work.
• Time Budget: The majority of the time allotted for the project's study will be used for
primary research. Around 25 hours out of 40 hours weekly will allocate for this purpose.
This will take up around 25 of the 40 hours each week. The remaining time will be used to
complete documentation for the business and conduct secondary research on it for my own
benefit.

Expected Findings or Hypothesis

My Hypothesis is that a market survey will lead to a more effective internal and external structure
for the company, and that this structure may be further tweaked by changing the marketing mix
approach.

I will learn via my research how the company's customers and employees have adapted to the
strategic adjustments and whether the improvements I suggest are advantageous for Aranya Crafts
Limited.

Methodology
Primary sources
• Direct observation pf marketing team activities.
• Direct communicate with CEO, MD, Manager, officers, and employers.
• Work practically and get some real experience.

Secondary Sources:
• Customer survey on the field.
• Find out some real data from the market.
• Website, and Facebook pages are also used.

Results & Discussion of result

These are refection of the survey I have done on the consumers of Aranya Crafts ltd. It was an
offline quantitative survey.

Here we can see that 88.4% of customers visit Banani Outlet and only 11.6% of people visit in
Dhanmondi outlet. That result also shows the selling information of these outlets.

Our 2nd question was. How People know about Aranya ?And it’s shows that 33.3% of word of
mouth, 11.9% social media and 52.4% others. That means Aranya’s social media promotion is
very low.

14 | P a g e
Copyright @ North South University, 2022
Here we can see that 7.9% of people are attached to Aranya for 20 years. And 5.3% are 5 years
and others are attached with Aranya 10 years +

Here we can see that 86.7% Customers do know about natural dyeing. And 13.3% people are not
aware about the process. Aranya can make promotions about Natural dyeing in orfer to let people
know.

15 | P a g e
Copyright @ North South University, 2022
Here we can see that 35.7% of customers visit our outlet in every month. 31% visit 2 times a year
and 4.8% are 3 times a year. Also, 28.6% of customers are visiting out shop more than 3 times a
year.

on fabric and design. 45.5% of customers preferring colors and 20.5% are preferring price.

The major and highlighting question was about pricing. As we can see here, 77.8% of people think
about that Aranya’s product price is very high. 13.3% of people think it is the Standard price and
8.9% of customer think ti is a fair price.

31.1% of customers prefer online purchases. And 33.3% are still confused. 35.6% of people are
not interested in online purchases.

Here we can see that, 64.4% of customers are satisfied with out staff service the said our staffs are
co-operative. And 33.3% said they are standard only 2.2% customers said they are non-operative.

18 | P a g e

In this question, 12.5% of customers think that Jatra & Arong are Aranya’s Competitors. And 4.1%
of customers said “Sofura silk, and Deshal” is Arana’s competitors.

Recommendation
• Listening to gain an objective overview: Complete attention should be paid to the
customer's account so that the accountable party may act on facts rather than on
presumptions.
• Empathizing with the customer: It's critical that staff members demonstrate what and
how customers feel. Empathizing with clients demonstrates to them that they are being
heard and that someone is eager to assist them.
• Taking action to resolve the problem: The issue has to be looked into and fixed right
away. If the consumer needs more time to be accommodated, the customer should be told
and provided a period when they may anticipate further information or a solution.
• Training: In order for the dealers to initially consult with the farmers to fix the issues, they
need conduct with the dealer and correctly educate them about the company's goods. They
cannot solve the issues for farmers or users if the intermediary is not adequately educated.

19 | P a g e
Copyright @ North South University, 2022
Limitations of the Study
According to my knowledge, some issues, and restrictions can arise in creating this report.

 It will not be possible to get internal information about other clothing brands.
 When conducting customer surveys, it is difficult to get complete information from all
customers.
 It will not be easy to go to any other brand shop and follow their branding method.

Conclusions
In conclusion, I'd like to thank Aranya Crafts Ltd. for providing me with the invaluable chance to
do a fall internship there from October to December of 2022. In reality, the duties I was assigned
throughout this internship program taught me a lot, from adjusting to the business culture to
conducting my own research. My major is marketing, and I have acquired a wide range of skills
that are essential to a marketing professional's day-to-day tasks. These teachings will undoubtedly
be very important in my future. My speaking, writing, presenting, analyzing, and MS Office tool
skills have all improved as a result of these exercises.

Weekly Journals ( 1 to 10 )
Journal 01

(02th October 2022 to 06th October 2022)

My office starts on the 2nd of October as the 1st was Saturday. I took off 2 days this week as Durga
Puja started off. So, I did not have to work a full week.

In this week I have not been given work this week because I am new here. I observed and tried to
know about the company. My supervisor introduced me to everyone in the office. I visited
Production Department, IT Department, Management Department, and Designer Department and
I ask them how they work.

I understand that this is a Clothing Brand company that started as a fair trade movement to revive
natural colors and has grown into a thriving ecosystem of over 3,000 artisans across Bangladesh.
ARANYA is characterized by a unique palette, which is harnessed directly from the earth. Colors
made from leaves, flowers, and trees are full of nature’s energy and paint true dedication to the
preservation of traditional techniques. They use authentic natural dyes that are freshly prepared
from ingredients such as Madder, Indigo, Cutch, and other varieties every morning in wonderful

shades of blues, greens, maroons, and more. It also develops and sources authentic and original
crafts and designs from all over the country and makes it available to the urban-conscious disciple.

After that, I went home to spend the Durga Puja holidays.

Journal 02

(09th October 2022 to 13th October 2022)

Earlier this week my supervisor Mr. Nurunnabi who is the assistant manager of Aranya Crafts
Limited, explains some things to me and asked me to do a product survey based on online for
market research.

I had to make a little chart to show the difference between the two brand products. I have to select
a product and compare the quality, description, price, and materials of that product with the quality
and price of other brands. For a whole week, I worked on this product survey and I compared my
company with other companies like ARONG, ANJONS, YELLOW, etc. Below is a sample of the
work I am doing this week:

Comparing the Product survey between Aranya and Arong:

After doing this survey I understood that how a brand set their pricing and how it competes with
other companies in the market.

Journal 03

(16th October 2022 to 20th October 2022)

This week I spent one day with each department in the office. This allowed me to know my
company better and understand how they operate.

First I went to the Production department. ARANYA made all products by hand. ARANYA uses
authentic natural dyes that are freshly prepared from ingredients such as Madder, Indigo, Cutch,
and other varieties every morning in wonderful shades of blues, greens, maroons, and more. It also
develops and sources authentic and original crafts and designs from all over the country and makes
them available to the urban-conscious disciple.

I have seen how they create a color with natural things without chemicals. They made Colors from
leaves, flowers and trees that are full of nature’s energy, and paint true dedication to the
preservation of traditional techniques. Below are some of the natural color processes I have learned
and seen.

Indigo: They use leaves for creating this color. The leaves of the shrub are soaked and fermented
to produce a wide spectrum of shades, from deep green to the prized radiant indigo blue. Known
as Neel in the sub-continent, historically the pigment was used in painting and as a fabric dye for
the garb of armed forces and important personalities.

Madder: The stems of the plant produce a rich catalog of reds, traces of which are found in the
relics of King Tutankhamun’s tomb, and Mohenjodaro.

Betel Nut: The hard seed has been utilized to make pigments of reddish browns and deep pinks for
millennia.

Onion: They have been Used the world over, and onion skins are the most commonly available
source of color. The supreme functionality and abundance of nature is unmatched, as nothing is

25 | P a g e
Copyright @ North South University, 2022
wasted. Onion skins yield a range of colors from yellow to brown to green. The skin of onions is
collected from various establishments like restaurants and reused in Aranya dyes.

Raintree: They have been using the raintree as a source of the deepest to the lightest beiges,
including a rich, old gold, since the early days. To protect the integrity of the tree, only sawdust is
used and never the bark of rooted trees. I have seen these colors made naturally.

Later I worked in Designer Department and learned about how they design. They first make the
design of a saree. They create new blogs to implement the design with the newly designed blog,
the saree is first waxed, and after waxing it is boiled in natural color. In this way, multiple colors
are added to a saree by repeated piping. Then after drying in a certain sum light the product is
ready. And with a new design, we see a new product that is different from other products.

Journal 04

(23th October 2022 to 27th October 2022)

This week I have been doing many things. I visited the Khadi cloth factory in Comilla city. Saw
how the famous khadi cloth is made. Hand made khadi is almost disappearing today due to the
touch of modernity. Only two families are involved in this weaving.

Talking to the owner of Grameen

Khadi, We observed that their income
has decreased in this work so they are
no longer motivated to do weaving.
They also said us that, if we are
ordering a thousand pieces of cloth
from them, they can not produce them
because of low raw materials.

This week our company had a two days product photoshoot under the marketing department. The
leadership of the Marketing Management team was given to me. I was given a team of 11 members
and all expenses were paid for 2 days from the office. I have since learned how to lead a

management team and how to make quick decisions. I have also learned how to present a work
quickly and accurately if I cannot do it properly. Two models, 1 photographer, and other members
worked under me. I learned how to maintain and control them.

And also monitoring how many products arrived. How many photoshoots were done was
interesting if somewhat challenging.

After spending one month in this company, I understood and learned practical how to work like
this.

Journal 05

(30th October 2022 to 03th November 2022)

This week I visited Aranya’s outlet which is located in Banani. From here, I learned how the
products are input and output from the production department, also how they sell directly to
customers.

First, the customer is given a clear idea about the product such as how it is manufactured. How it
is designed and what materials are used for this product. As a result, the customer gets the right
idea about the products and expresses interest in buying the product.

In the middle of the week, I went to visit Jamdani Palli which is located in Sonargoan city. We had
two foreign people who came from France. They have come to see how Jamdani Saree is made. I
was also selected by the company to visit with them. I was able to learn and experience something

new. I see how jamdani is made. Talking to the artisans, I learned that they need 1 to 4 months to
make a Jamdani Saree. Learned how to impress a buyer. Talked to two foreign buyers from France.
Wanted to inform them about Jamdani and at the end of the relationship full of friendship
developed with them.

Finally, this week was about learning something new for me. And used some marketing policies
through which I can impress our customers and buyers.

This week I did not learn anything new. I worked on Google Sheets to create new product
descriptions. Through this description, the customer can easily know about the product and how
the product is made.

I also visited “Source” which is part of “Prakriti”. Basically, they are our kind of supplier. Aranya
buys its manufactured products from them and sells them through Aranya’s outlets. I visited
Proktiti’s store. See how they make their products and with an idea of the price of their products.
Later based on that a business deal was made with them.

I talked to them and took some pictures of their products. I have listed the price of the products.
And sent all the data related to product to the office. After giving confirmation from the office, I
left the showroom and come back to the office.

This week I worked more on consignment. Through this, the company buys products from various
suppliers and sells them at Aranya’s Outlet. I have discussed consignment and agreement with
some suppliers who have their own businesses and Facebook pages, as directed by our General
Manager. I made a deal with “Boka Baksho, Woodnut, Ponnoshala, Nuzzld Candle, ARS
international, Boyon Bitan, etc”. I went to visit “Ponnoshala” in Mirpur. The owner of Ponnoshala
showed me the products they make and informed me about the price.

an idea about the quality of his handmade products. And also provide us the list of the products.

I went home on a three days long vacation as my elder sister got married. I did not come to the
office from Sunday to Tuesday.

On Wednesday and Thursday, I did the consignment work that I have been doing for the last 2
weeks. I have spoken to a few other suppliers and dealt with them. They are “ Borno Bangladesh,
Ludu Chokka, Soukin Kutir, D Style Factory, Go Deshi, etc”.

I have been able to observe from these consignments how to communicate with suppliers and how
to deal with them.

This time I worked in the office. Did not learn anything new. However, I have observed many
things during the work. I worked with consignment and products survey. There were some
mistakes in my previous online product survey which Director sir corrected and asked to add
something new things.

I have analyzed some brands like friendship, Kumudini, And collected their data. I did not visit
their shop yet. But analyzed their social media sector. I have focused on finding their products
with our products. By the end of the week I have handled three suppliers those who came to our
office visit with their sample products and price list. I met with them and checked the product
quality of their products and transferred them to my superior.

I want to mention one thing, I could not come to the office for 2 days due to my illness during the
week, so I did not have any new work experience.

I had two significant meetings this week and I worked on the competitive product survey. First, I
found our competitor. I researched six different clothing brands throughout the week. I have
collected information about their products' quality, price, and design and have done a Brand
Analysis considering the data.

This is a brand analysis of six different brands in Bangladesh. My office showed respect to me
because I performed the work very efficiently.

Then I was invited to a meeting with Aranya’s Consultant, ANDY ROZARIO. He asked me to do
one more task of Market Research to find the world market share of clothing brands in Bangladesh
and report on it.
