Sera® Print M-STR


Higher electrolyte stable concentrated synthetic thickener for reactive printing on
cotton and viscose rayon

(A) Stock Thickening

Soda Ash 0 - 2 g/kg
Sera® Print M-BTR 30 - 35 g/kg
Total 1000 g/kg

Preparation of paste with high speed stirrer

- add sequestering agent Sera® Sperse C-SN & defoamer into water
- under stirring add urea and mild oxidising agent Sera® Con M-LU
- add Soda Ash & Sodium bicarbonate and homogenize the mixture
- add Sera® Print M-STR by constant stirring for desired viscosity

Above paste is kept over night or immediately prepared depending


on the alginate specification.

Print, dry and steam at 102 C for 8 – 12 minutes.

Because of its rheology Sera® Print M-STR can be printed over a wide
viscosity range whilst still maintaining excellent definition, colour yield and
coverage compared to sodium alginate.

Hard water may influence the soft handle, the additional use of Sera
Sperse C-SN as a complexing agent and addition of Natural Thickener
like Sodium Alginate is recommended, for extreme cases, to improve the
wash ability and electrolyte stability.

Washing mainly depends on the washer efficiency, time of contact and


temperature. We suggest the first warm rinse at 500C , followed by hot
wash at 95-1000C with 2-3 gpl Sera® Sperse C-SN and 2-3 gpl Sera® Fast
C-RD.
