Health 7

COURSE DESCRIPTION
What is meant when we talk about holistic health? Is mental health, physical health, etc., a concept different from what we consider as
holistic health? Does having mental health issues equate to having mental disorders? Is it true that noncommunicable diseases are contagious?
The answers to all these questions involve a fundamental grasp of holistic health and its related concepts – an understanding of the eight
dimensions of holistic health, adolescent developmental changes, mental health and the management of mental disorders, and the nature of
noncommunicable diseases.
Through this course, the students will be equipped with scientific tools to make better decisions on issues related to holistic health –
specifically mental health, face the changes that teenagers go through in adolescence, and evaluate their own practices regarding their nutrition
and disease prevention. All this will be achieved using various innovative assessments to ensure that students’ critical thinking skills and
creativity are engaged.
Health Education for Grade 7 will be delivered through full face-to-face modalities for Academic Year 2023-2024. Through this learning
setup, we will focus on developing holistic health by completing activities online or in actual physical classrooms. This will enable the learners to
acquire essential knowledge, attitudes and skills that are necessary to maintain and improve their personal health, family health and
community health.
