Comprehensive List of MOOC Courses for 2024/ 2025/ 2026 pass out batch of

B. Tech CSE students

Rules to be followed:
 Regular students of 2024 pass out batch are supposed to acquire at least 4 credits from the list of
MOOC courses given below, whereas 2025 and 2026 pass out batch students are supposed to
acquire at least 8 & 12 credits respectively to get the honors certificate.

 Lateral entry students of 2024, 2025 & 2026 pass out batch are supposed to acquire 4 credits
more from the regular students of the same batch from the above mentioned courses to get the
honors certificate, i.e. for 2024 batch it will be 8 credits, for 2025 batch it will be 12 credits and
for 2026 batch it will be 16 credits.

 Please remember that if any student has already done a particular course (compulsory/elective)
from the HIT CSE curriculum, then that student cannot take the same course (or with very similar
content) from the list of MOOC courses given below. A student can do such a course for
enhancement of learning but its credit cannot be considered for the calculation of minimum
credits required to get the honors certificate.

 A student might choose to do a course from platforms like Coursera, edX, Udemy, Simpilearn
that is equivalent to any course from the list given below. In that case students must follow the
following principles:

For other MOOC platforms like Coursera, edX, Udemy, Simpilearn etc. -
i) Courses of 4 weeks to 7 weeks: 1 credit point
ii) Courses of 8 weeks to 11 weeks: 2 credit points
iii) Courses of 12 weeks to 15 weeks: 3 credit points
iv) Courses of 16 weeks or more: 4 credit points

For MOOC courses that are available in hours –

i) For every 8 – 15 hours of course: 1 credit point
ii) For the courses with duration less than 8 hours, multiple courses could be taken together
(preferably in the same area) to consider 1 credit point. But where duration is available in weeks,
count of hours will not be applicable.
