Lesson 7 Review

你平时喝什么饮料？ (nǐ píngshí hē shénme yǐnliào) = What do you drink normally?

我偶尔喝热巧克力，有时喝果汁，常常喝咖啡 (wǒ ǒuěr hē rè qiǎokèlì, yǒushí hē guǒzhī,

chángcháng hē kāfēi) = Occasionally I drink hot chocolate, sometimes I drink juice, occasional
drink coffee.

可是 (kěshì) = 但是(dànshì) = but...

我很喜欢吃意大利菜，可是不常常做。 (wǒ hěn xǐhuān chī yìdàlì cài, kěshì bù chángcháng zuò) =
I like Italian food, but I don't cook often.

姐姐要去旅游，可是没有买飞机票。 (jiějie yào qù lǚyóu, kěshì méiyǒu mǎi fēijīpiào) = Older

sister is going to travel but she has not bought flight tickets yet.

明天天气很好，可是后天要下雨。 (míngtiān tiānqì hěnhǎo, kěshì hòutiān yào xiàyǔ) =

Tomorrow's weather is good but the day after tomorrow it will rain.

上海很有意思，可是比较贵。 (shànghǎi hěn yǒuyìsi, kěshì bǐjiào guì) = Shanghai is an

interesting place but it is expensive.

洛杉矶天气很温和但是交通太差 (luòshānjī tiānqì hěn wēnhé dànshì jiāotōng tài chà) = LA's
weather is very moderate but the traffic is too bad.

Dialogue A: 周末你做什么？

(zhōumò nǐ zuò shénme)=

What do you do on weekends?

B：平时在家休息，打扫，但是偶尔去见朋友。

(píngshí zài jiā xiūxi, dǎsǎo, dànshì ǒuěr qù jiàn péngyǒu)

Normally I'm at home resting, cleaning, but occasionally I meet

up with friends

A：上个周末你见朋友了吗？

(shàng gè zhōumò nǐ jiàn péngyǒu le ma?)

 Did you meet up with friends last weekend?

B：上个周末母亲节，我和我妈妈去钓鱼了。

(shàng gè zhōumò mǔqīnjié, wǒ hé wǒ māma qù diàoyú le)

Last weekend was mother's day,my mom and I went fishing.

A：你常常和你妈妈见面吗？

(nǐ chángcháng hé nǐ māma jiànmiàn ma)

Do you see your mom often?

B: 每个月见一次，你呢？

(měigè yuè jiàn yīcì, nǐ ne)

Once a month, how about you?

A: 我们偶尔见面，她住在东京。

(wǒmen ǒuěr jiànmiàn, tā zhù zài dōngjīng)

We see each other occasionally, she's living in Tokyo.

B: 平时你们怎么联系？

(píngshí nǐmen zěnme liánxì) =

How do you (two) connect normally?

A: 我们常常打电话，有时候 facetime， 但是特别的时候写卡片。

(wǒmen chángcháng dǎ diànhuà, yǒushíhòu facetime,dànshì tèbié de

shíhòu xiě kǎpiàn)

We call each other often, and sometimes (we) facetime, but on

special occasions we write cards to each other.

B: 什么特别的时候？

(shénme tèbiéde shíhòu)

What kind of special occasions?

A: 圣诞节，生日，母亲节。写卡片很慢但是更有意思。

(shèngdànjié, shēngrì, mǔqīnjié. xiě kǎpiàn hěn màn dànshì gēng yǒuyìsi)
 Christmas, birthday, mother's day. Writing cards take more time
but is more interesting.

B: 母亲节你妈妈很开心吧？

(mǔqīnjié nǐ māma hěn kāixīn ba)

Was your mom happy on mother's day?

A: 她不开心。

(tā bù kāixīn)

She's not happy.

B: 为什么不开心？

(wèishénme bù kāixīn)

Why not happy?

A: 今年母亲节我写卡片了，但是忘记寄卡片了。

(jīnnián mǔqīnjié wǒ xiě kǎpiànle, dànshì wàngjì jì kǎpiàn le)

This year's mother's day I wrote a card, but forgot to send it out.
