DEAR STUDENTS

Weall dream about the day when we will crack XYZ examination, when will get a
five-six-digit big salary, travel to all those beautiful places, buy new spacious
house for our parents. Our entire focus is on the success, not the struggle. And it’s
totally understandable — because success is memorable , and everybody wants it,
while the struggle is drab, disagreeable, and unattractive for the general public.
But, it is the effort, struggling, and sticking to your resolutions that shapes you as a
person. Success is a reward for giving your best, but it’s not always within your
control whether and when you get to enjoy it. Whenever you find yourself
discouraged by your lack of success, remind yourself that its not giving-up and
working hard is your real reward. It’s in your hands whether you allow yourself to
see the rewards the struggle generates or ignore them, Whether you mindlessly
see the end result as the sole indicator of success. I failed numerous times in life. I
could have despaired that I had lost so much time and effort and money, but I
hadn’t really failed. I had been true to my values of pursuing the life I wanted. I kept
going, despite the obstacles I constantly encountered along the way. Eventually
my efforts paid off. But even if it would have taken longer to get my results — the
struggle would still have been worth it for the immense changes I underwent on
the journey to pursue my dreams. Eventually my efforts paid off, but even if it had
taken longer to get the results — the struggle would still have been worth it for the
immense changes I underwent on the journey to pursue my dreams.

Rise and Shine.

SOLUTION

1. Solution: A
B 48 3u
144u
A+B 18 8u
A’s efficiency = 8u-3u= 5u
Last 8days work done by A alone= 8 x 5u = 40u
Work done by A+B = 144u - 40u = 104u
Time taken = 104÷8= 13days
Total time taken = 13 + 8 = 21days

2. Solution: A
Discount = 1/6, MP:CP = 6:5
MP : CP : SP
600u 500u 425u
If there would be no loss or profit then CP will be equal to
SP
CP = 425u
MP= 600u, D= 600-425=175u
Discount %= 175/600 x 100 = 29 (1/6)%

3. Solution: B
In school B
B : G
11 : 8
8u = 264
1u = 33
PAGE 35
CHECKLIST FOR BANK EXAMS 2023 BY AASHISH ARORA
11u+8u = 19u = 19 x 33 = 627
School A : school B
13 : 11
11u = 627
1u = 57
Total student of class 9 in both school = 13u + 11u
= 24u = 24 x 57 = 1368

4. Solution:C
X : Y
Time 5 : 7
Efficiency 7 : 5

Total efficiency = 12
Work done in 8hrs = 12 x 8 = 96u
30% work = 96u
100% work = 320u
Time taken by Y = 320 /5u = 64hours

5. Solution: D
MP : SP
8u : 7u
Cancellation charge = 14.28% of 7u= 1u
Money received = 7-1= 6u
Hence % less = MP-Money received / MP x 100
= 8u - 6u / 8u x 100 = 25%

6. Solution: A

48 5a 36-3a
48 = 1600/ 3000 = 16/30
Hence 16u = 48
1u = 3
Hence 5a+36 - 3a = 30u - 16u
2a +36 = 14u
2a= 14 x 3 - 36
a = 3months
B’s share = 5a = 5x3= 15u
48u = Rs. 1600
15u = 1600 / 48 x 15 = Rs. 500

7. Solution: B

Efficiency of B= 7u - 5u = 2u
B can do 100% work = 70 x 2 = 140days
Hence total work = 2 x 140 = 280
C’ efficiency = 2 x 140 ÷ 56 = 5u
A+C efficiency = 5u+5u = 10u
Time taken by A+C = 2x 140 ÷ 10 = 28days

Ratio of speed = ratio of distance covered
Ratio of distance covered= 29:25
Hence 29u-25u = 4u = 500
1u = 125
Distance between A&B = 29u + 25u = 54u = 54 x 125
Time taken by slower train = 54 x 125 / 25 x 125 = 2.16 hrs
