In your own opinion, what consequences will these choices/actions lead to?
1. You did not review for the final examination.
- As what we can expect, you will not be able to answer the examination
because you did not prepare for it. Even if we say you have stock knowledge,
that ‘knowledge’ will get you to nowhere. Laziness and procrastination leads
to nothing but regret. In my own experiences, I always regret not reviewing for
my exam just because I got lazy. According to Philip Stanhope, 4th Earl of
Chesterfield, “Know the true value of time; snatch, seize, and enjoy every
moment of it. No idleness, no laziness, and no procrastination: never put off
till tomorrow what you can do today.”
2. You have been swayed by your peers to smoke.
- Bad company ruins good morals. If they persuade you and you listen, I
believe it is your fault. There is no thing such as “hindi ako makahindi” or “I
don’t want to disappoint them”. It is your own choice. The consequences of
this will be you will be addicted to cigar/vape. Since you are addicted now, it
will lead to some disease and worst case scenario would be lung cancer. “Evil
influence is like a nicotine patch, you cannot help but absorb what sticks to
you.”
3. You chose not to pursue a college degree.
- I believe there are two paths in this question. One is you will be unemployed
or two is you will be successful. Education is important. But the truth is the
success is not only possible for degree holders also in people who are
strategic. But of course, we live in a third world country. High educational
attainment means you are successful. I’m not belittling those who did not
finished their education but, practically speaking, in this country (not all but
often) only those who finished college can have success and victory.
4. You decided to get married right after graduation from high school.
- It is possible that you will not enjoy life and will be forever unemployed. I’m
the kind of person who values career more than anything. I believe that love
can wait and if can’t then it is not love. It is also possible that you will suffer
from poverty since you and your husband haven’t established yet. You don’t
have any source of income since you just got out of high school. It is a foolish
thing to do but it happens because maybe you got pregnant so that your
parents made you marry your boyfriend.
5. You got impregnated/You got your girlfriend impregnated before graduation.
- First thing that got to my mind is your parents will kick you out of your house
or be really mad. Maybe they will not join the graduation or not graduate at all.
The baby will just suffer. Maybe they will abort the baby which leads to sin but
that’s the worst thing, hopefully they would not. I don’t judge teenagers or
people who are doing pre-marital sex but at least be responsible. If you don’t
want a kid or can’t raise him, use condoms or don’t have sex at all. It just

basic common sense. The rate of teenagers being pregnant are rising and it
is alarming.
