CHALLENGER 604 - 605 DIFFERENCES MANUAL FORMAT
This Differences Manual compliments the Challenger 604 and 605 flight training
courseware by identifying system differences between the aircraft. Most differences
relate to the different avionics platform installed on the aircraft. For detailed airframe
and avionic systems operation refer to the Pilot Training Guide (PTG). To avoid
repetitive detail it is assumed that readers have sufficient knowledge of both aircraft.
This document does not address differences in limitations, performance or operating
procedures.
It is written in such a way as to present a side-by-side, high-level comparison between
airframe and avionic systems from a flight deck perspective. Challenger 604
information is presented on the left or even numbered pages while the equivalent
Challenger 605 information is presented on the right or odd numbered pages.

A split window allows the MFD to show primary EICAS information on the upper
window and overlays or navigation formats on the lower window. The full display shows
navigation formats and is used when it is not configured to show EICAS. The chart
format is used when the Integrated Flight Information System (IFIS) is installed.
The MFD has selectable formats as follows: PPOS, Plan Map, TCAS Traffic and
optional 3D Map.
Traffic, terrain and weather radar/lightning overlays can be placed over the PPOS
format only.
A radar mode line is shown on the right side of those MFD and PFD formats that
support a radar overlay.
The air data status block is not shown on the MFD. Rather, the information block is
shown at the top of the navigation window on the PFD.
