The fifth (5th) meeting topic was all about consulting internally and this is
subdivided into 4 sub-topics: consulting in Asia, management consultancy in the oil
and gas industry, managing the contradictions and complexities of CSR, and
strategic collaboration in management consultancy. Discussed in the meeting was
the current international trends in the consultancy industries. In the current trends,
international consultancy tends to shift from traditional processes to AI and
digitization for improved business performance as well as expanding cloud
capabilities, expansion of the metaverse, ensuring compliance with sustainability,
and driving diversity, equity and inclusion. The management consulting industry is
continuing to grow while it continues to modernize along. To date, consultants are in
high demand, as the need for digitalization proliferates with the widespread changes
of organizational processes.

The first sub-topic was all about consulting in Asia. As per the discussion, the
market size of the consulting services industry in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region
reached a 25 billion U.S. dollars. Most consultancy in Asia tends to adopt digital
transformation which is the current trend nowadays because consulting firms must
embrace technology to stay relevant. This transformation will revolutionize the way
consultants process problem-solving, decision-making and analysis of data. The five
(5) fastest growing sectors in Southeast Asia in 2023 was also discussed, these
sectors include: e-commerce, digital healthcare, fintech, renewable energy,
education technology, and final thoughts. The enormous management consulting
sector is still expanding, but not without corresponding challenges. Data integration
and process automation are still continuing to grow; therefore, its scalability is largely
dependent on the number of qualified workers. The top 30 management consulting
firms in Asia that leads the consultancy industry in particular order includes: FTI
consulting, Grant Thornton, KPMG International, Accenture Plc, Bain & Company,
BDO, Deloitte Southeast Asia Ltd, EY, EY Parthenon, Korn Ferry, Mercer, PWC
Firms, Strategy&, McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, AlixPartners,

consultancy services that will satisfy the client’s goals.

The second sub-topic was all about management consultancy in the oil and
gas industry. Included in this sub-topic is the influence of consultants in oil and gas
industry. From the discussion, oil and gas consultants can help organizations to
maximize the value of reserves, deploy the latest digital IT solutions and offer new
processes in support of alternative energy sources using a combination of industry
expertise, best practices and tested solutions. This consulting services are very
important not only to the Philippines but also to other countries that heavily uses oil
and gas for the daily production. This helps energy professionals unleash the full
value of their energy assets safely and of course profitably through sharing
professional expertise to provide clients with the capability to navigate and manage
this kind of complexity. Some recognized oil and gas consulting firms in the world
includes Deloitte, Boston Consulting Group, EY, McKinsey & Company, PwC,

This consulting firms have their own field of expertise in the world of oil and gas
consultancy.

The third (3rd) sub-topic was all about managing the contradictions and
complexities of CSR. From the discussion, the main relationship of corporate
governance and corporate social responsibility is the contradiction between the two
where the latter focuses at making positive contribution to the society while corporate
governance is more advantageous to its stakeholders as this maximizes the profits.
Some CSR drivers includes shareholders, board, managers, stakeholders,
employees, customers, competitors, governments, industry, NGOs, and media.
There are six (6) tips to consider to ensure that the company is a responsible
corporate citizen, these are to: adopt a business code of ethics, follow a workplace
health and safety program, commit protecting the environment, get suppliers on
board, be smart about donating money, and don’t greenwash own business. The
significance of CSR goes beyond simple compliance with the law, but a company
could build social capital and a healthier bottom line while making positive
contribution to the society and its people.

The fourth (4th) sub-topic was all about strategic collaboration in management
consultancy. Collaboration in strategic management serves as a guide on how to
approach better teamwork among organizational members. These promotes good
relationship between employees to perform as a team player to achieve
organizational goals and successfully complete projects. This plays a significant role
as this allows for more effective decision-making process by involving multiple
stakeholders and subject matter experts, leaders to share their knowledge and
experiences to generate diverse perspectives, challenge assumptions, and mitigate
cognitive biases.
