Looking at environmental justice, we must first address racial injustice.

Historically African
Americans have suffered disproportionate impacts from pollution, climate change, and lack of access
to green space. The impact of our individual choices on the environment, including our buying and
consumption habits, cannot be ignored. Our consumerist society has led us down a path that has
collectively caused harm to our planet - the only home we have. We have now reached a point
where urgent action must be taken to preserve the health of our oceans and their diverse marine
life, which are essential to the survival of all living beings on Earth. We witnessed first-hand the
devastating effects of ocean pollution on marine life and our environment, and we knew that action
was needed. We started as a small group of concerned individuals who came together with a shared
passion for protecting our oceans and preserving the planet for future generations. Our focus on
education and advocacy has helped us to grow and expand our reach, as we work to raise awareness
of the impact of human activity on the environment. Eco friendly environmental means living in a
way that is not harmful to the environment. This way of life is becoming increasingly important, as
we need to protect our planet from man-made damage. Human life depends on the earth as much
as the ocean for our sustenance and livelihoods. Plant life provides 80 percent of the human diet,
and we rely on agriculture as an important economic resource. Forests cover 30 percent of the
Earth’s surface, provide vital habitats for millions of species, and important sources for clean air and
water, as well as being crucial for combating climate change.

Ways to Be More Eco Friendly:

 Renewable Energy for Electricity

 Smart Thermostats
 Energy Efficient Lighting
 Upgrade to Energy Efficient Appliances
 Use Eco-Cleaning Products
 Biodegradable Household Products

People who reduce their plastic use, use low-carbon transport like bicycles and eat a plant-based
diet are often called “environmentalists” because of their behaviour. Interestingly, this relationship
could also run in reverse.
