Chances Knit Triangle Shawl

Versatile and beautiful, this shawl is knit with alternating sections of
Garter Stitch and Horseshoe Lace. Knit from the top down using the
Garter Tab Cast On method, it's a quick and simple knit shawl that is
perfect for wrapping yourself in softness while still being stylish enough
for an evening on the town.

SIZE : 52” x 26” Blocked.


MATERIALS: 2 skeins (3.5 oz, 437 yards each) Expression Fiber Arts
Sincere Sock yarn. Shown in colors MC: Beauty From Ashes (1 skein)
and CC: Restored (1 skein). If those colors aren't available, any shade
from this category will work.
NEEDLES: US 5 (3.75 mm) 32” (80 cm) circular needle to
accommodate large number of stitches.
OTHER TOOLS AND SUPPLIES: Tapestry needle for weaving in ends,
stitch markers (4 total) to mark increases.
GAUGE: 22 sts per 4 inches and 28 rows per 4 inches in Stockinette
Stitch – Blocked.
ABBREVIATIONS: BO: Bind Off, CC: Contrasting Color, CO: Cast On, K: Knit, MC: Main Color, P: Purl, Pm: Place

• Gauge is not crucial to this project, but will affect yardage and size.
• Length of the shawl can be adjusted by repeating alternating sections.
• Row count table and stitch charts can be found at end of pattern instructions. Half row counts do not include
edging.

Set Up
With MC
Garter tab cast-on: CO 3 sts. Knit 6 rows. Turn work 90 degrees and pick up 3 sts. Turn work 90 degrees and
pick up another 3 sts. You will have 9 sts on the needle.

Work WS and place markers: K3, pm, k1, pm, k1, pm, k1, pm, k3. (4 stitch markers)

Section One
With MC

FINISHING: Weave in all your tails using a tapestry needle. Soak your shawl for 20 minutes in lukewarm water,
press out the excess moisture with a towel and lay your shawl flat, pin to shape and allow it to dry. Enjoy!
