and AI systems while maintaining human expertise and engagement?
II. Materials/Methods:
1.1 A critical review of knowledge management

An organization can use knowledge management to use and organize its knowledge in a way that promotes learning, innovation, and competitiveness.
(Carneiro, 2000) It is a strategic, integrated process. The aim is to convert knowledge that is implicit, explicit, experimental, and experiential into
knowledge that is valued and applicable. (Alavi, M & Tiwana, A, 2002)

Knowledge management encompasses gathering, recording, organizing, storing, and retrieving information in addition to enabling the methodical
sharing and dissemination of knowledge between individuals, groups, and departments. (Zhang, D, Zhou, L, & Nunamaker Jr, J. F, 2002) Using and
applying knowledge in decision-making and innovation processes is another way to promote ongoing learning and sustainable progress. (Van
Kerkhoff, L. & Lebel, L, 2006)

Organizations can increase their competitiveness by using knowledge management, a potent strategic instrument that makes it possible to employ both
internal and external knowledge effectively. (Chuang, 2004) Knowledge management enables businesses to increase performance and innovation and
make more strategic (Darroch, 2005)

Knowledge management is one of the modern and important practices in the knowledge era, where knowledge is the most valuable strategic resource
for organizations to achieve sustainable development and excellence. (Shahzad, M., Qu, Y., Zafar, A. U, Rehman, S. U.,, & Islam, T., 2020)
Peter Senge is one of the scientists who spoke about the importance of knowledge management. He said, “Knowledge management means providing
an appropriate environment for knowledge sharing and continuous learning within an organization” (Senge, 2006). Dorothy Leonard also
contributed to the development of knowledge management theory, pointing out the importance of recording and documenting organizational
knowledge and sharing it among organizational members (Leonard, 1995).
Tom Davenport introduced the ``Knowledge as an Asset'' theory that emphasizes that knowledge is one of the fundamental assets
of an organization and must be used effectively, so knowledge is one of the fundamental assets of management. He is considered
one of the leading researchers in the field (Davenport, 1997). Furthermore, Eric Bensoussan emphasizes the importance of knowledge management in
addressing organizational challenges and changes in the business environment (Bensoussan et al., 2013). These theories and concepts reflect the
importance of knowledge management in achieving competitiveness and innovation in institutions, and in achieving sustainable success in the face of
ongoing changes in the world.

What are the Origins and domain of knowledge management description of the Theoretical origins to knowledge management and Empirical
origins to knowledge management?

Origins and domain of knowledge management:

First: Theoretical origins to knowledge management:

The field of knowledge management (KM) can be considered an integral part of the broader concept of “intellectual capital” (Roos et al., 1997).
According to Guthrie (2000), KM involves the management of the “intellectual capital” that a company controls. However, the distinction
between KM and intellectual capital is often unclear and not sufficiently considered. Knowledge management issues are not new (Roos et al.,
1997), and the concept of intellectual capital is a comprehensive concept that includes various elements such as knowledge, experience,
technology, customer relationships, and specialized skills that ensure competitive advantage. functions as a term. exists in the market
(Edvinsson, 1997).
The origins of intellectual capital can be traced back to his two ideas: strategy and measurement. Strategically, the focus is on the creation and use of
knowledge and examining the relationship between knowledge and success or value creation (Roos et al., 1997). Measurement emphasizes the need to
develop new information systems that measure non-financial data in addition to traditional financial indicators (Guthrie, 2000). These conceptual
roots of intellectual capital emphasize the importance of understanding and managing knowledge to increase value and success.

Theoretical foundations of knowledge management focus on the concepts and theories that guide and support the practice of knowledge management.
Below are some common theoretical resources in the field of knowledge management.

1. Intellectual Capital Theory: Focuses on how to identify and measure intellectual capital within an organization and manage it effectively to achieve
competitive advantage.
2. Learning Process Theory: Focuses on how knowledge is acquired and distributed within an organization to foster continuous learning and
innovation.
3. Cognitive Innovation Theory: Focuses on how knowledge can be transformed into innovation and applied in manufacturing and continuous
improvement processes.
4. Network and Relationship Theory: Focuses on the importance of building and strengthening relationships and networks within and outside the
organization to share knowledge and foster mutual learning.
5. Organizational Culture Theory: Focuses on developing a culture that supports participation, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing within an
organization.
Conceptual roots of intellectual capital

The conceptual roots of intellectual capital can be traced back to the works of several researchers and scholars in the field of knowledge management
and organizational theory. (Serenko, A & Bontis, N., 2013)One influential framework that contributed to the understanding of intellectual capital is the
model proposed by Roos et al. in their 1997 article.

Roos et al. presented a framework that classifies intellectual capital into three main components: human capital, structural capital, and customer capital.
They defined human capital as the knowledge, skills, and capabilities of individuals within an organization. Structural capital refers to the supportive
infrastructure, processes, and systems that enable the creation and utilization of knowledge within an organization. Customer capital represented the
relationships and knowledge embedded in the organization's relationships with its customers and stakeholders.

This framework provided a comprehensive view of intellectual capital and emphasized the importance of different forms of knowledge and their
impact on organizational performance. It highlighted the significance of managing and leveraging intellectual capital as a strategic resource for
organizations.

Second: Empirical origins to knowledge management

Emphasizing the need for knowledge management: "Knowledge management is a vital strategy for companies in the knowledge era, where knowledge
can be a powerful source of competitiveness, innovation, and sustainable success" (Nonaka and Takeuchi, 1995).

The main idea conveyed in this text is that the growth of “knowledge management” as a business strategy emerged in response to two fundamental
changes: downsizing and technological development.
In the 1980s, downsizing became a popular strategy for companies to reduce costs and increase profitability. The negative impact of downsizing on
knowledge: "Downsizing signifies a significant loss of organizational knowledge, as employees leave the company and take with them the knowledge
they have acquired over their years of work" (DiMattia and Oder, 1997).
However, one of the negative effects of downsizing was the loss of valuable knowledge as employees took their accumulated knowledge with them
and left the company. Organizations realized they had lost critical information and expertise and sought to protect themselves from similar losses
in the future.
To address this issue, companies are adopting "knowledge management" strategies that use technology and systems to capture and retain
employee knowledge.
The role of technology in knowledge management: "Technology can contribute to recording and storing organizational knowledge and enable effective
sharing and utilization" (Davenport and Prusak, 1998).
By storing this knowledge, it has become a reusable resource that can provide competitive advantages such as increased organizational capabilities,
increased performance, and reduced costs.
Advances in technology, especially the explosive growth of information resources such as the Internet and the rapid pace of technological change,
have further increased the importance of knowledge management. Overwhelmed by the amount of information, the need to address increased
knowledge in the workplace has arisen.
The development of new technologies has enabled the worldwide exchange of information and facilitated the effective use of knowledge within
organizations. By capturing a company's collective expertise in a database, organizations can better understand and systematically use knowledge.
1.2 Introduction to knowledge management and AI

Definition of Knowledge Management:

Knowledge management (KM) refers to the systematic processes, strategies, and activities employed by organizations to identify, create, capture, store,
organize, distribute, and utilize knowledge assets effectively. (Sokoh, G. C. & Okolie, U. C., 2021) It involves the acquisition, development, sharing,
and application of knowledge to enhance organizational performance, innovation, learning, and decision-making. (Abubakar, A. M., Elrehail, H.,,
Alatailat, M. A., & Elçi, A., 2019) KM encompasses both explicit knowledge (formalized and codified information) and tacit knowledge (personal
insights, experiences, and expertise) and aims to leverage these assets to achieve organizational goals. (K. Kakabadse, N.,, Kouzmin, A.,, &
Kakabadse, A, 2001)

Importance of Knowledge Management in Organizations:

1. Enhancing Decision Making: Knowledge management provides organizations with access to relevant and reliable information, insights, and
expertise, enabling informed decision-making at all levels. (Intezari, A., & Gressel, S., 2017) It ensures that decisions are based on the best available
knowledge, leading to improved outcomes and reduced risks.

2. Fostering Innovation: By effectively managing knowledge, organizations can promote a culture of innovation. KM facilitates the generation and
sharing of ideas, lessons learned, and best practices, fostering creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement. (Armbrecht Jr, F. R., et al., 2001)

3. Enabling Learning and Development: Knowledge management supports organizational learning by capturing and disseminating knowledge gained
from past experiences, projects, and successes/failures. It facilitates learning loops, encourages knowledge sharing, and supports the development of
employees' skills and competencies.
Trends and advancements in AI systems:

The rapid progress and ongoing advancements in AI systems are driving transformative changes across diverse industries. (Bughin, J., Hazan, E., Sree
Ramaswamy, P, DC, W., , & Chu, M., 2017) Deep learning, a powerful subset of machine learning, has emerged as a key driver of innovation by
leveraging neural networks with multiple layers to effectively analyze complex patterns and data. (Dimiduk, D. M., Holm, E. A.,, & Niezgoda, S. R.,
2018) This has yielded groundbreaking achievements in fields like image recognition, natural language processing, and speech synthesis, bolstering the
capabilities of AI systems. Natural Language Processing (NLP) has garnered significant attention as it aims to imbue machines with the ability to
comprehend and process human language. This has facilitated the development of sophisticated virtual assistants, chatbots, and language translation
systems, which are reshaping the way we interact with technology. Concurrently, advancements in computer vision have empowered machines to
interpret and comprehend visual information, propelling applications such as facial recognition, object detection, autonomous vehicles, and augmented
reality. The profound impact of these AI advancements is revolutionizing technological interactions and unlocking unprecedented opportunities across
multiple sectors.

governance, and organizational culture. Future research should focus on exploring practical approaches for fostering collaboration, trust, and effective
communication between humans and AI systems in knowledge management activities.

In addition to the main findings and contributions discussed in the previous section, it is important to acknowledge the implications and practical
implications of the research on the collaborative partnership between humans and AI in knowledge management. The insights gained from this
literature review can inform organizations and practitioners in leveraging AI technologies effectively for knowledge management. By understanding
the opportunities and challenges associated with the integration of AI systems, organizations can develop strategies to optimize knowledge creation,
storage, sharing, and application processes. Furthermore, the findings highlight the importance of fostering a collaborative and trust-based environment
between humans and AI systems to ensure successful implementation. This may involve providing training and upskilling opportunities for employees
to adapt to the changing landscape of knowledge management. Additionally, ethical considerations, such as data privacy and algorithmic bias, should
be carefully addressed to ensure responsible and ethical use of AI in knowledge management. Overall, this research contributes to the practical
understanding and implementation of collaborative human-AI partnerships in knowledge management, enabling organizations to harness the full
potential of AI while leveraging human expertise and judgment.

Recommendation and future Research

1. Embrace a human-centered approach: While AI technologies offer significant opportunities for enhancing KM practices, it is crucial to maintain a
human-centered approach. Recognize that AI is a tool to augment human capabilities and expertise, rather than replace them. Ensure that human
involvement, creativity, and critical thinking continue to play a central role in knowledge creation, sharing, and application processes.
2. Foster collaboration and trust: Promote a collaborative and inclusive organizational culture that encourages effective communication and
collaboration between humans and AI systems. Establish mechanisms for knowledge sharing and co-creation, facilitating interactions between
employees and AI technologies. Build trust in AI systems by ensuring transparency, explain ability, and accountability in their operation.

3. Provide training and skill development: Invest in training programs to enhance employees' digital literacy and AI-related skills. Equip them with the
knowledge and capabilities to effectively utilize AI systems for knowledge management. This includes training on data analysis, AI tools, and
understanding the ethical implications of AI in KM. Encourage continuous learning and create opportunities for employees to upskill and reskill in the
context of AI-enabled KM.

4- Conduct regular evaluations and feedback loops: Establish mechanisms for continuous evaluation and feedback to assess the effectiveness of AI
systems in KM. Regularly monitor and measure the impact of AI-enabled KM practices on key performance indicators, such as knowledge sharing,
decision-making processes, and organizational outcomes. Solicit feedback from employees and stakeholders to identify areas of improvement and
refine the AI systems accordingly.

5. Foster a learning culture: Cultivate a learning culture that embraces curiosity, adaptability, and openness to change. Encourage employees to explore
new AI technologies, stay updated on emerging trends, and share their knowledge and experiences with others. Create forums for cross-functional
collaboration, such as communities of practice or innovation labs, where employees can exchange ideas and co-create AI-driven solutions for KM
challenges.

To effectively coordinate AI into knowledge management (KM), a human-centered approach is foremost. Recognize AI as a device increasing human
capabilities, protecting the centrality of human association, inventiveness, and basic considering in information forms. Cultivate collaboration and
belief by advancing a comprehensive organizational culture that encourages viable communication and co-creation between people and AI. Build up
straightforwardness, explain ability, and responsibility in AI operation to construct belief. Contribute to workers preparing for computerized
proficiency and AI-related abilities, empowering ceaseless learning, and upskilling. Actualize normal assessments and input circles to survey AI's
effect on KM, refining frameworks based on worker and partner input. Develop a learning culture that grasps interest, versatility, and cross-functional
collaboration for imaginative AI-driven arrangements in KM.
