CHESS RULES AND REGULATIONS

A.Number of Player Required:

2 men and 2 women per team
B. EQUIPMENTS:
1.Chess Board
2.Chess Clock/ Cellphone with Application as chess clock
3.Ball pen
4. Paper

C. Tournament: Round Robin

In chess round robin tournaments require every player or team to face all the other
players or team at least once. The winner is those who have the best overall performance during
the entire tournament. The two highest winners will be match to the best three of five games.
D. Clock:
1.The use of chess clocks is compulsory
2.The chess clock are set to 10 minutes with no delay.
3.Player must make their move and press the clock with the same hand.
4. The tournament manager has the discretion, put a clock on a game at any time if it
appears that it us using excessive amount of time.
E. Tournament Rules and Regulations
1. Players are not allowed to eat in the playing area while on game.
2. Player must observe proper dress code while playing. The use of sando, slippers, short
pants are prohibited.
3. If the player has any questions concerning the rules, they may raise their hand and talk to
the tournament official.
4. Spectator are not allowed in the venue.
5. Defaulting time is 10 mins.
F. Game offenses
1. A touch move shall be implemented
2. Improper use of clock
3. Wrong castling
4. It is forbidden distract your opponent

G. Drawn Games
1. By Stalemate
2. By agreement of the player during the game
3. If a player has insufficient mating material and the opponent runs out of time.
H. Won Games
1. By checkmate
2. If the opponent resigns
3. If the opponent runs out of time.
