a. Course Description:
This course aims to teach learners basic managerial functions of planning, organizing, directing,
and controlling resources to accomplish organizational goals. Via this course, learners will be
able to demonstrate knowledge about the managerial process and individual & group behaviour
in organisations, organisational culture, and approaches to managing organisational change.
b. Course Objectives:
1. To learn concepts of management and roles of the manager at each level of an
organization.
2. To acquire skills those are necessary for a manager to work effectively and efficiently.
3. To examine individual and group behaviour, communication, conflict and various
management styles, motivational techniques and coordination in the work environment.
c. Course Outcomes:
CO1 To understand the fundamental concepts of management and the evolution of
management approaches.
CO2 To illustrate the basic functions of management in modern day business that ensures
their smooth and efficient running.
CO3 To evaluate the different techniques and theories of motivation and foundation of
group behaviour to understand organization employee dynamics.
CO4 To appraise the complexities associated with management of human resources in the
organization and approaches in handling these complexities.
CO5 To devise new leadership strategies to manage organizational change and
development in an organization.
